That's a picture for the "low loader" thread!
Best wishes with your new toy. And fingers crossed you'll not need another low loader for it for a very long time!

Nice to meet you today, at Glamis Motoring Extravaganza. The car looked lovely. Great weather as well.

Thanks Allan, yes it was great to meet you too. had a look around but could not see any other Maserati's,did you see any?
Allan can I ask a question please? have you had any problems with your Handbrake? mine doe not hold the car, am not sure if it means i need new pads or just needs ajusted but where do you do that?
I suppose this has already been asked on the forum but I have looked but could not find anything.

It could be either new pads or adjusting but dont use the handbrake as the pads have a tendancy to seize on the drum and delaminate. Just leave it parked in gear. The handbrake on these cars are poor at best.

If you have a look at the altenative parts thread i have listed the ferrodo and apec alternative parts at around £35 for the set of 4. Oem ones are around £90 each shoe.

I hope you have better luck than me with the delivery trip, my first spyder didn't make it to it's new home. Happily the insurance paid up and I've had 10 fantastic years with my current spyder GT. I hope yours turns out to be as reliable and as much fun as mine has been.

I hope so too, apart from small problems it is a dream car, if you appreciate art and art forms then the spyder is a sight to behold shape, proportions, flowing line are a real joy to look upon.
I can see why people treasure this car,kep it locked up,unused, except to admire, but thats wrong in so many ways. you have it right tourmaline use the car, drive it, and enjoy this work of art to the limit.

Mechanical problem with the truck caused it to catch fire and they only managed to get one or two cars off the bottom deck

As @spkennyuk says the handbrake is poor and best to leave it in gear (I sometimes even place some wood under a wheel if I'm feeling unsure). I also have to do left foot braking on some hill starts.

yes Roary I have bought some chocks as the handbrake does not work at all, however leaving it in gear hmm not sure about that, would that also not cause problems, or are you only meaning short term leaving it in gear untill you can block it?
Does anybody know where the adjusment for the handbrake is on these cars? On some cars it is under the storage box at your elbow, on others its underneath

Adjustment is easy as it's shoes in the hub of the disc similar to most manufacturers using this system.
There's also adjustment on the cable underneath might be worth checking that first to make sure that's not been fully wound up then adjust the shoes.
