Had a stone hit the QP screen 3 months ago and rang my insurer AVIVA. they put me through to their screen department 'Autoglass' who said they had to source the screen through Maserati anyway so why not go to them to do it as they are petrified of damaging the car and trim knowing the replacement cost and the precious nature of the owners (charming).

I rang AVIVA and told them this and they immediately agreed I should take it to Meridien and allow them to do it, for me to pay and send them the bill.

All done £1660.00......sent them the receipted invioce and got a bank transfer less £75.00

Autoglass are shocking ! Just a month or two ago it took them 3 weeks to source the correct screen for one of our Alfa 166's. Turned up the first time with the wrong screen; second time (5 days later) with a cracked screen (worse than the one they were meant to be replacing). By this point the car was out of MOT and thereford off the road until a third attempt was made more than 2 weeks later. i personally tracked down another supplier who had 5 correct screens at their depot but Autoglass wouldn't(couldn't ?) use them and wife's insurer wouldn't use another glass company other than Autoglass…..sorry, rant over !

Strange and sad as it is in my one month in my GTS I've noticed all the glass has the trident logo. I like it and it did cross my mind would an auto glass etx replacement come with the same.

Guessing if they have to be ordered from Masersti anyway then no one has bothered producing cheaper aftermarket versions?
