will it do the job as a start at pressure washing?

Hi Greg, I have the Karscher, the coned shape bayonet is great for clearing stubborn grime a very handy little tool and given no problems. Sean.

The motor unit is the thing to watch on these. Many use the water as a coolant, I believe the Karscher has an oil system so it prolongs the life of the motor if it is run without water

so the £30 saving may be false in the long run then?
and further, what do most use as snow?

Might be worth considering Nilfisk alternatives as I believe the pros like these also. I have had one for 3 years and seems a pretty solid machine.

Meh, I got a cheapo Kenzo unit from Makro some years back. I keep expecting it to grind to a halt, but it just doesn't.

The biggest issue with it to date is I don't know what sort of snow lance would fit.....

ended up plumping for the karcher - does the job fine and dandy. still waiting for the litre snow foam lance/bottle to arrive so thought I'd just use the demon shine one that attaches straight onto the hozelock hose for this weekend. does the job ok but roughly 20 cars???? I think not, I done the bettle, the alfa and the 3200 and probably enough left now for one more car if I'm lucky......still, they are all nice and shinneey now:excellent:

How does that foam stuff work? Do you just spray it on and then rinse it off?
guess it will depend on your pressure in the hose but I was quite impressed with the depth of foam, except how much was used that is.
they advise "agitating" with a sponge but I just rinsed off then used the two buckets as per normal. it seemed to work ok removed/loosened alot of the grim on the beetle in particular (fiona thinks because it is a convertible you only need to wash it half as often it seems:saifi3:)

I bought a Karcher about 3 years ago, believing them to have a good reputation. Mine was a piece of unreliable junk.

i brought a Kracher pressure washer mainly for doing the drive patio ect, i have one with the big round patio attachment, and i have to say its awesome. I also brought a snow foam lance and snow foam, this i was not so impressed with i was led to believe that this was a good cleaning soloution if a quick clean was needed. But if thruth be told its a pre-clean. So instead of the usual spray with water, then 2 bucket method. I now use it for the 1st bit, spray snow foam on, leave 20 mins, then rinse down, then 2 bucket method. it removes allot of loose stuff, more so than just the water, but if i had used one before purchasing, i probably wouldn't have bothered.

cheers Kev.

I got some of that Demon foam. Leaving that on for 20 minutes would result in a dry car, with loads of soap left on it.

It's OK as a pre-wash, but I only left it on while I was sorting out buckets for the wheels.

Yep, don't leave the snow foam on for too long. It's only meant to soak slightly and draw larger deposits off the paintwork before washing by hand. 5 minutes would be plenty on a very dirty car.
