My wife want to watch what wildlife stops by our house every night. Prompted by animal footprints in the snow and the saucers of food she leaves out which always get eaten, she wants to now watch them next morning.
I need therefore a camera which records movement but I also don't want to have to spend the whole day next day watching when nothing happens.
Anyone got any experiences with these things and if so can you point me to the appropriate item on say Ebay or Amazon?

We have a cheep one that record's onto a micro SD card... just c£50 off ebay.

You can set it to take video or stills, and the length of the video.

We have Badger cam, Deer cam , hedgehog cam... and (scare the sodding things away) fox and cat cam.

We do intend to upgrade to one that can BT to the TV this year, but also the Badger and Hedgehog will come within a few feet of us now when out in the summer evenings.

We’ve got an Apeman one, that seems to be no longer made but is like this.

I’d recommend getting one with a forward facing viewing screen, motion activated and night vision You can set them to be pick up on movement between certain hours and how long to record.

We have a selection of hedgehogs and a couple of foxes and shitarse cats.

They are the ones that **** in your neighbor's garden... great if you own said shitarse, less so if you are the neighbor.

I have one next to my pond, I download after each fortnight at work, I usually just have it taking stills, but it will do video. Its fascinating. I'll check what I bought.

The people who used to own our house had something set up to capture wildlife which came to the house at night.

They said they had badgers, foxes, rabbits, rats (nice), mice and god knows what else.
Then she started leaving food out for them. FFS!

So now there is all sorts of wildlife ripping apart rubbish and food bins not securely closed leaving a right old mess on St Bins Day!

Careful what you wish for.

Is yours motion activated? I wouldn't want to watch 8 hours of video for five minutes of action. £40 is more like what I was looking to spend.

Yes it is. Photo and video. You can also set operating times. Duration of video, sensitivity, etc. I think they’re all very similar.
