Wider tyres?

I plan to invest for Trofeo R to have a blend of good track and spirited drive experience for GS. I was thinking if I should go for 245 front and 275 rear. But don't want profile less then current. Any experiences?

Not much clue really on the 3200/4200 line, but in all cases (sorry to state the obvious) a wider tyre with same same sidewall height will require a lower series. From a 35, to a wider 30, for example, to maintain sidewall height and final drive/speedo ratios. Wider tires will invariably track worse (tramline), make the car feel harsher, and probably end up being nosier. Unless a car was hopelessly overpowering the tires, you will get a lot faster for your money with some extra laps with a good instructor.

For road comfort it is common for GS owners to go 10mm wider to increase the sidewall height in the same ratio.
Aspect ratio 35 in front , 30 in rear.
If you run spacers and have a right hand drive car, you will encounter the left rear stiffer spring pushing the tyre out of the body, whereas right rear is inboard. The factory set up is to compensate for left hand drive driver's body weight, but they didn't change it for right hand drive.
I have photos to show this on another computer.

My car is LH and I don't worry of harsher ride if I can take corners better and safer as well as wider tyre base should mean better breaking. I use racelogic for real time gps based speed so not worried of odo. But I believe if I don't drop to 230 front and 225 rear, the base of tyre due to rim width will not be ideal. Is my logic ok?

Unless your a hooligan, what's the point, you can't do over 75 without getting points .. same in Aus!

Umm. The springs have the same part number, no different between left and right, and same from 2003 > GS. Front and rear....

Not my words but the factory credentialed mechanic. See the photos of 2 other cars than mine with the same issue.
