The early ones were Rob they are still the cheapest 911 you can buy....but the C4S is bucking the trend and rising in price along with any specials...Turbo, GT3, GT3 RS etc....

Water in the boot is curable if you know what to do, amazed they don't get that done, the other stuff is fixable if you know what you are doing, they probably use a local garage who don't have a clue..??

Well - I think that is at least 4 of us on the lookout for a facelift 4200!

You are right Andy the rear end of the 996 C4S has got to be one of the best rears out there, once I started looking you have to look for a car with IMS upgrade or the engine overhaul done (Hartech etc) RMS and low temp thermostat, probably why some are knocking on the door of turbo money.

Please don't rule out earlier 4200's in your search.
With the age of all 4200's you should buy on condition, not just age.
I saw many poor condition facelifts before I found my Classico, so much so I nearly gave up on buying a Maserati completely, but my 'jem' classico thankfully introduced herself to me just in time!

There are many quality styling points with the classico too. Things like a proper Trident in the front grill, and no silly silver plastic shrouds in the headlamps around the projector light units.

I looked at the silver 05 in Kent about a month ago,the reverse was the same.
The paintwork was poor and the leather on the seats was hard and brittle.
It was a trade-in from a jaguar dealer. I also looked at the black one at ADG,
Nice car, inside in great condition but just too much compared to Gus old car which I bought.
I think the black car at £19,000 would be about right.

Agreed I did exactly the same, and ended up with a classico that was much much better than any of the facelift ones.

Also the Light blue manuel for sale in Cardiff is no good, its for sale by a dealer, but i saw it when the private owner had it, its not good. That was another one of my wasted trips, except it was in Nottingham at the time....
