Hi

A twonk in a 5 series didn't see me yesterday and nearly took off my front wing. I went for the horn but nothing!

Is the horn operated from the centre of the steering wheel?

My car was mot'd two weeks ago in preparation for me buying it so it must have been working.

I remember that on my 4200 :)

Then when I *did* find it, it didn't work, anyway.

Couldn't give a hoot! </Two Ronnies>

Mine used to blow the fuse, often after the switch stuck "ON". Only had to drive 3-4 minutes :D

Classic Maserati Owner not knowing where essential safety equipment is.
When I first bought mine I could not - open the fuel cap, bonnet or work out how to switch off my hazard warning lights when I accidentally flicked the switch.
Suitably embarrassed.

On a GTS? Wow that takes it to the next level! At least on a 3200 the button for the fuel flap is hidden in the glovebox but on a GTS it's a small reach from the steering wheel!

:D

Ha ha. Found them now, thanks. Embarassingly the horn sign is not faded at all and is very clear.

I think I need to stop being paranoid that if I can find something it must be broken! I should have more faith.

In my defence, I've not had much cause to use mine, but I tend to open the boot when I want fuel....

Done that!
I end up getting out the car and pretend I am looking for something in the boot before closing it and then taking the fuel cap off. :-(

Which is fine if you are at a self-service petrol station but in Spain over the last couple of weeks most were attended... which adds to the embarrassment.
