The log book says I'm 51... but really I'm still 18.. Originally from Cardiff, Living in Reading and messing about with property trading - mainly land and buildings for development.

Was 40 before I got my first Maserati... before that My Mrs always thought there were better things to spend cash on... The last one cost me the price of the car + 2 Ponies and a horse trailer....

I'm 5 miles from Silverstone Circuit and I work for Racelogic. Some of you may be aware of the PerformanceBox or the VideoVBOX, which are retail products we've designed and built but it's easier if I just bung this link up so you can have a read.

http://www.racelogic.co.uk/index.php/en/company/company-profile

I've been here at Racelogic for just over 10 years and before that I was at <ahem> Superchips for 4 years. Before that it was Motorsport Developments in MK where we did all sorts of road and motorsport cars, like the Peugeot 406 BTCC, Honda Accord BTCC, Hyundai Coupe F2 Rally car and the Hyundai Accent WRC car, many many moons ago.

I have a mechanical background but I long gave up the spanners and I'm more than happy with that. I solely work in electronics now and focus mainly on customer/dealer support, which I enjoy.

I'm Newton and I'm a workaholic...!

Ah sorry is this not the MWA confessions thread?

50, family man, 5 kids all growing up too fast with the youngest being 14 now, eldest two married! Married far too long, been in and out of the children's play industry since I was 17, hate the industry but realised I wasn't going to escape it back in 02 so took the plunge and set up self employed again as a consultant (may as well use all that knowledge) and have been building my client base ever since. Never really had any ambition to build the business beyond a 1 man band but it seems to be inevitable it I'm to avoid burn out! Grew up as an engineer, rebuilt my first motorbike & engine at 7 first car at 13 and had a rebel youth... These days I call myself a consultant/engineer as it is probably the best description for me!

Live near Bexleyheath (SE London / North Kent). Was born in Bromley so have not strayed far.

I have always been a bit of a car nut / bore. Lots of interest in all eras, makes and models. Loved the Maserati brand ever since having a couple of toys as a kid. I can also remember looking into the window at Meridian.

Working in the London Bridge area as a draftsman / CAD tech. for a firm of Structural Engineers - would have preferred to have been a racing driver or astronaut but that wasn't really an option.

Would love to be in a position to have more time and money to spend on cars / home / skiing ......

Thanks everyone a great mix of careers and locations

It seems we are all in agreement that property prices in London are stupid and have generally messed up getting a mortgage for everyone else :) Getting a decent hotel room for less than 150 quid is a challenge !!!!

We all love cars and I also love watches as well, I would forgo eating for both.

Looking forward to getting the motor and meeting up with everyone, if anyone does have inside track on how to get property without selling a kidney nowadays then Im open to ideas...

My other passion is trashy US TV to help with train journeys once Ive done all my podcasts and read every book I have.....

I'm from Nelson in Lancashire but currently live in Tidworth near Salisbury.

I am a SSgt Army Commando and a REME Artificer Vehicles. I've been in the Army for 17 years and lived in Germany, UK and been on various Operations.

I have signed off and hope to transition into civilian life as a Sub Sea Engineer in the oil and gas industry. A few of my lads have left recently and work for a company called Pacific Drilling so hopefully that will be successful. If not I'll cry back to the army and hopefully they'll take me back.

I love cars, the smell of petrol and my chosen career path but fancy a change.
