Anyone got any ideas which exhaust is fitted to the 3200 that was on wheeler dealers?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6hbCqrdHxg

At approx 11:37 they have a close up. Look too round to be the originals...

Thought it sounded pretty nice, had a bit of throat, but not to intrusive.

Cheers,

Dave.

I remember the show. not sure which exhaust was on it and to be fair, do not recall it being any throatier than the original exhaust system but if you want loud listen to allan's larini on his 32 AC!

I don't really want loud and shouty, I just want a decent quality sound when I put my foot down. I keep hearing mixed things about the Larinis, some people say they are too loud, but I can't imagine they are "that loud" with just swapping over the back boxes and leaving all else standard, but I could be wrong. Second hand I would give them ago, but for £1,400+ new I keep going back and forth on whether to get them or not. Too loud and I don't think they will suit the character of the car. If I get them and they are too loud then I can recoup a fair amount of the money selling them second-hand but it is still going to be a waste. Money that could go towards a throttle body refurb for example...

Not sure what is up with the video, it worked at lunch. Oh well, here are a few images I managed to salvage...

Dave.

Thanks Phil, I'll compare it against the RPI next weekend and post my findings. I am starting to edge towards the RPI to be honest, but my mind changes on a daily basis. I think the QS has a lip on it from what I could see. I've looked at and listened to so many different 3200 exhausts online over the last month, it's quite difficult to decide what to bolt on to it...

Hi

Eurospares are doing a deal on Tubi Style back boxes for the 3200 at the moment and was a small clip of the sound posted recently on another forum.

Larinis are the business. Have you thought about deleting the centre cat to allow more flow and sound?

Indeed Phil, I don't think much of Larini's on a 4200 as you can create the same effect for a quarter of the price but on a 3200 you can't touch them.

I have Larini's on my 32 with centre box (under handbrake) cleared out , sounds nice but still not quite as acoustic as I would like though :alan4:

I've read this a few times about the centre boxes being removed. guess I'd need to find an engineering firm to do this.......no?

Not sure what box is being referred to here , but as referred to above there was only 1 centre box on mine , which I opened up and cleaned all the guts out of myself , better sound but not quite enough.

Hey mate,

First of all, I like your handle name. My name is Tim Cox and I'm from Aus!….there you go, now thats done….

I have an Assetto Corsa, and have had the Tubi's on it since I bought it. They sound So much better in the flesh rather than a video. I've tried so many times with my go Pro, iPhone and a Camcorder to get the sound, but you just can't do it! They are worth the money and I drove from Brisbane to Canberra via Toowoomba (A lot of meaningless words to you if you're not from Aus) but it turned into a 15 hour drive (In one go!)….and I didn't really get a huge amount of drone coming through or anything like that. You could hear that they're there, but not intrusive! I had a play with some of the boys with the Larini's and sure they sounded nice, and loud! But they were a hard loud as opposed to the tubi that have that soft Loud. (I don't know if that makes any sense or not but it's my two cents anyway) Have a listen to a car with Tubi and Larini and make up your mind, but the computers never do it justice.

Hey Adam,

I'm glad you received the cd, and hope you got some good photos off it.....I should have charged for it looking at the auto Italia site photographers page! You're one of the few to get back to me aside from pete Davies and George! Always happy to help though!

No not added to the site

Hey Tim,

Always nice to hear from a member of the Australian Cox colony. :)

Going to have a proper listen to the standard RPI exhaust on Saturday. If it is loud enough for me and looks ok on the car then I will go for that. Otherwise it will be the Tubi or the Larini. I can't listen to those as I can't find anyone with a 3200 and one of those back boxes fitted near where I live. So will have to possibly take a punt on one of them. Will see how I get on.

Cheers,

Dave

Not really Greg, my mate did mine, simply cut the section and welded new centre pipes to replace. Dead simple.
