Wheel Refurbished GS

Hi everyone,

I recently had the wheels for the GS refurbished and picked them up today.

I got advice on the forum that the correct pain colour would be Grigio Mercury Metallic paint however when I received the wheels the colour is darker.

Were there different variants of Grey for the Gransport wheels?

Picture below of collect wheels, original colour is on the centre cap for reference.

Perhaps the paintshop just didn’t do a good enough job with preparing the exact mix for grigio mercury?

Do you know what paint code they used? Mine are Grigio Mercury - PPG paint code 226679.

That's the paint code they used as they got it from me based on feedback on the forum for the correct GS paint code. It's darker than the OEM colour previously.

Does it really matter? They are stunning, they match each other. Who is to say the others are wrong?

Had your alloys been refurbished previously? If so they may not have been the OEM colour? Regardless of shade they do look superb.

Hmm - as others say they look great, ultimately it comes down to what you're happy with. If you're coming along to Brooklands next week you'd be welcome to have a look at my set and see how the colour compares to yours.

No this is the first time so they were given to them with the OEM colour

The wheels look fine to me I had mine powder coated slightly darker on purpose and I am happy just fit the wheels on your motor and enjoy they look great.

I would agree if they looked like they do in the photo but when they hit certain light they have a purple/blue hue to them.
