As you say has been for sale for ages....Perhaps some are put off with the interior colour buut looks OK to me....Not much detail on the advert and not aware of anyone on here going to look at her.....At that price it must be worth a look or an independent inspection.....and they well be open to offers as it hasn't sold...

Advert is poor so not much to go on and its always hard to tell much about condition from pictures that small. Best to drop them a line and ask all the right questions to see if it stacks up or not. Price is ok for the mileage assuming the rest of the car is all good.

I quite like the exterior and interior colour combination, suits a GS well i think.

Car has been for sale on and off for about seven months.

Low spec car with average miles for the year...price is fair as long as the car is tip top.

Do like that interior, suits it well.
Yup, love the external & internal colours. The interior for me looks great & works well two tone with the tech cloth. If it was a bit cheaper it would tempt me to sell the XJ & have this for work as a daily driver.

I like the interior colour, think the whole thing works. I assume you can tell it doesn't have Xenons by the lack of washers? The rest of the options I don't care about but vowed not to buy another car without Xenons!

Correct, no xenon lights as there are no washers. My GS doesn't have Xenon's and the standard lights make for some "interesting" driving at night, it certainly keeps you on your toes dodging potholes, bumps and roadkill on country lanes! I have some better headlight bulbs ready to fit which are supposed to improve matters.

Retro fitting Xenon's is extremely expensive on a GS so if they are a must have option to you then this car is a non starter unfortunately.

I do like the HID lights on mine, although the cut off is severe (like all HID's I have experienced) its like a line, daylight and midnight.

My GS is basically the same poverty spec, has parking sensors and that is about it.

It's only a weekend toy so not too fussed, sound like my old man now but less to go wrong!

It is poverty spec, just from the pictures:

No HID
No memory seats
No heated seats
No parking sensors
No full leather

Of course you don't need any of them, but surprised the first owner would be so tight, especially as its not a Fiesta Popular!

It's true the GS should have come with those features as standard and i'm glad that my car with the exception of the Xenon's has those things. But i wouldn't discount a basic spec car at the right price without them, after all the best bit of owning one of these cars is driving it!

To be fair most of our driving is probably in daylight and for a lot of owners only in good weather.
The best bits are all the same.

Yes I had the same thought, it wont be a daily and probably wont see much winter use so in all likelihood no HIDs probably not a big issue.

Hopefully my 911 will sell at the auction it is in next month in order to release some new toy funds :)

Apart from the colour, it is identical to my car. The interior looks great in person and is such a nice combination to live with. The black/silver tech cloth looks much better in person and contrasts nicely with the bordeaux.

On another note, are earlier cars (04-05), quite raw and slightly less refined when compared to later cars (06-07)?

I think its the earlier first generation 4200's with the early gearbox ECU (CFC201), and original firmware, that are reported to be quite raw.
That's what I have, but having not driven anything later, can't really comment.
Those that have flashed their first gen ECU to the only 'upgrade' firmware appear to regret it, and can't go back.
Regarding later 4200 and all GS they are on a second generation gearbox ECU (CFC231), and if flashed to the last firmware, should all be the same.
