My mrs drives an Audi A3 convertable. Totally agree with that statement

My brother in law is a serial Audi owner... great bloke before that... now he's started wearing socks with his Birkenstocks and talking b***cks.... He's seriously keen to "trade up" to an S5....
I'm sure they're lovely cars... but I fear now he is lost..

I don't often agree with Clarkson but I had to when he said that when the RS4 came along most of the w4nkers in M3s sold them and moved across to Audi. There they stay, alive and flourishing.

Ok, I've hidden from this for long enough.
First car, a Mini with hardboard under the carpet to stop my feet falling through (I got it when I was 16 and left home)
Austin allegro 1500 twin carb. Kept up with an XR3, but get it on a bend and it handled like a boat.
A couple of mark two Escorts, one estate in bright yellow (I think someone on here would approve).
A couple of Ford Cortina's. One tango orange.
A couple of XR3i's. One I had for about an hour, hit side-on by a coach. Ouch!
A 2000s Cavalier. Another boat, crashed in great fashion.
A Rover 800. **** car.
A Rover 214si. Enough said.
Bmw 525i se.
Mini Cooper S. Fun.
Ford Ranger.
A lot of vans in the mix.
And of course to redeem my sins, my 4200 Gransport (keeper).

Unusual Steve, I would say most Maserati owners have a history of Italian car ownership, Lancia's and Alfa's, before ownership.

All I've missed out is a couple of VW. Nothing of any intrest. I had kids young and bought a house. Never had the money to buy exotic cars. Until now. The fords were reliable and did their job at not a lot of cost. The rovers hmm bad mistakes prob would have been better buying Italian. My ex was way to sensible for that. But as I said, lots of vans for work, a car was a luxury.

You are always a crowd of one, there couldn't be anyone else similar - (Please let that be true :) )

Nope, me too. I have deliberately avoided all French and Italian cars based on my experiences years ago as an apprentice in a garage. Remember this was when the Lancia Delta was a new car and I was working on some real dross at the time.

Looks like I'm one of the few; my Spyder is my first, and so far only, Italian car.

Likewise. My list is quite mundane - from a Mini, a Spitfire, an abundance of Fords, some Vauxhalls, a few Land Rovers from a V8 110 to Discos, a couple of amusing Jags, a Merc and now the GTS. Which I love.

Maybe i've got it all wrong...no one having a history of Italian car ownership would possibly contemplate owning a Maserati!
