What is my Granturismo worth?

Ok that doesnt sound to bad. Thank you all.

I drove the 991 C4S again on Saturday again and it bored me a touch. There was no sense of event. Maybe its the engine I dont know. I think the C4 GTS is more potent but similar.

The R8 V10 on the other hand is just totally crazy. I think it sounds as good as the Maz in Sport mode if not better. Its still on top of my list. I will try the Vanquish next weekend and revert.

The 599 doesnt appeal to me. I am also going against the thought of a Ferrari. People will just think I am a prat and hate me? What do Ferrari owners experience on the road, at petrol stations, high streets etc?

Apologies- I didn't read about the Ferrari bit mate.
I would get what you like- not everyone else will agree.
There are some everyday ferraris in my opinion.
I personally think the strad is fantastic too. Never liked the R8s- but do appreciate they are well put together and sound good

A Ferrari is your best way to avoid losing any money while having a sense of event everytime!

Not as reliable as an Audi, but the R8, is still an Audi.

I haven't driven an R8, but friends who have are mixed in their opinion.

Some say it feels a bit.... German. Very nice, very comfortable, bloody fast, but a bit dull and soulless...

I can imagine it sounds incredible, but I suspect it would feel less special than a Ferrari. I also think, once you're talking about 100k+ on a super car there are going to be plenty of people who will hate / resent you and think you're a rich prat... (This probably happens even in a 50k Maserati, but we just think the looks are ones of admiration rather than resentment)

Everyones a hater. Your colleagues at the brokerage firm, guys you golf with, trackday guys everyone. Nobody wants to see you prosper. Especially if you have arrogant license plates like me.

Don't let public or even private perception change they way you feel act or purchase.

Had a run in my mates now 10 year old Pagini Zonda for a couple of hours over the weekend, it is still mind blowing fast, just like I remember it all those year's ago.. the weight of a Ford Fiesta with 700 hp! ;)

Thank you all for the tips and advice. Much appreciated. I decided on balance to go with the Audi R8 Plus in the end. Got offered a decent deal on a 17 plate car in black with good spec and have bought it. Thankfully was registered in March so have to pay £535 road tax a year instead of £2000!

I will miss the Maz. In fact I am regretting changing it already. Great car. I will wait for the day when the new one is introduced - will be first on the waiting list.

Im sorry for not going with any of the other suggestions. All good btw and I understood why they were made. I took them seriously and did drive a few of the cars.

Let us know how
It goes with the R8 - I give it 18 months max before you are back in an Italian super car!

I suspect you may well be right! I am heading to my dealer the week after next to possibly put a deposit down on a 488 Spyder. Have an appointment booked with them. Just under a two year waitlist - enough time for me to get bored of the R8.

I have loved the Maserati. Awesome experience. I wish they replace it soon.

And guys I am still very much here. Not leaving these forums!!

A 488 just drove past me and I thought it sounded pretty good. Slightly more muted than we're all used to, but still good. The gearchange was ridiculously fast, and that was just on a hotel access road.

I was chatting to the Ferrari dealer this weekend whilst buying mine- and he was trying to talk me into getting a 488 spyder. I could not have afforded it (without a remortgage!) but have to say it looked absolutely unbelievable. Interesting t see in this climate - It's probably a better investment than property. You will have the enjoyment
Of driving it for a few months then sell it on as a profit.

Post pics
Of the R8 when you get it and a video of the exhaust sound!

Here are some pics of the car. I cut them from a video so excuse the poor quality. Picking it up on Saturday.
