What have you done to your Maserati today?

ROFL

I think it looks ok, obviously it slightly dominates being a 9 inch screen, but you can find what you need quickly and it’s extremely responsive compared to the overlay CarPlay screen on my GT. On the move it works great as it’s solid, no movement at all and is easy to use due to the size. It would be difficult to go back to a phone cradle once you’re used to this.

It looks a load better than a phone cradle, too. On hot days my iPhone would overheat if left on a stick-on thing in the windscreen. Even with the aircon on, the sun on the back of the phone would send it over the edge. An over-heated phone when you're trying to use its satnav is a not useful thing.

Yep there is that advantage too. I just keep my phone in my pocket, as soon as the screen powers up it connects automatically to my phone and enters CarPlay mode.
In case I need to charge the phone they fitted a flush USB between the seats. All very neat indeed.

Very neat. My CarPlay is wired only, which means I'm forever forgetting my phone in the armrest, where the USB plugs are.

By the way, this was my cheapo Amazon USB adaptor, which Aston Installations helpfully identified as being a Health & Safety menace.

Continuing to get car ready,so rear wheel off, will wash and ceramic coat it, rear liner and rear suspension washed down with degreaser will let dry before tyre black on liner and wax oil on rear suspension.

As you can tell am just taking my time and enjoying the sunny weather!

'Sunny weather'? What is this meteorological phenomenon of which you speak?

Just a suggestion: Getting some kind of cover for when not in use is probably a good idea. Stuff shorting out 5v at 1A can be unhealthy. And we all know I'm a masterful elastictrician

Just dropped off the 360 for a new windscreen. Huge crack from driver’s side bottom corner upwards.
To be fair it’s the first new windscreen in 22 years so not bad going at all.
New CarPlay system worked a treat with Waze and BBC app, absolutely awesome sound.
Tremendous work from National windscreens. I was slightly nervous about such a general outfit but I needn’t had worried. They sent their top guy to their Chelmsford depot especially, does all their high end stuff. Brilliant work, absolute perfection and you wouldn’t know it wasn’t a factory fit. In fact, it’s probably better as the 360 screens were updated on later models with better seals.
And what a difference to a 25 year old screen!!

Why?The rear liner has vents as per photo but all seemed to do is trap muck behind it.

So of course I will take off liner, and as per usual some of the screws are rusted on....

So it will be out with the dremil tomorrow

But the question remains why put a dirt trap there in the first place?

Just de-sticky’ed the clock surround on the GT. What a faff.. think i might get AV to take it all off and send to Roland.
Anyway, hoovered the interior and then did a full Gliptone leather treatment and interior glass and screen clean.
Car is now ready for my 2000 mile road trip… bring it on

They put it there to reduce the high pressure area under the wheel arch. Reduces drag, goes faster.

Just had good news re my alarm ECU.It is faulty and fixable, which should clear the problem this car has had since at least 2016 (according to invoices).

Having a new key fob circuit board fitted (on the spare key) aswell, as that was faulty. Unfortunately that has put the repair cost up a wee bit.

Slowly but surely, I'm ticking those jobs off the "to do" list for any potential new owner.

As long as it works I'm ultimately going to have to reflect that in the sale price of my car, as I can't keep throwing money at her :as001 (2):

Delighted that it will be fixed and SO FAR, I've not skinned my knuckles getting to the ecu etc :conf1:
