What do you do for a living?

Semi-retired interior designer.

Started off in retail: national and international multiples, shopping centres; moved onto hotels: most of the main worldwide operators; one airport; then bailed out of a directorship several years ago and swore I would never work in that industry again. Ran away and did several ski seasons in the Alps.

Recently been sucked back into it and do occasional bits and pieces now but my primary job is stay-at-home dad and general layabout.

Sell Ski Gear for a living which means I get to test it all too :)

Lovely.

I spent my four university years working part-time and holidays selling ski and climbing gear. When I graduated I spent the summer working as a product designer for Lowe Alpine Systems in Tullamore. One of my camera bags went into production, that was a buzz.

I love that industry and have often wanted to get involved somehow. Even designed and ordered some sleeping bag samples from China many moons ago with a view to doing a mail-order service. This was pre-internet and it seemed getting them to market was going to be too difficult, also the producers were looking for minimum orders well beyond our pockets.

I'm still a bit of a gear head and have far more of it than I can possibly ever use - or store.

Which brands do you carry?

Any links?

I'm a mechanical design engineer for an American company which (amongst other things) designs and manufactures radiation monitoring equipment for the nuclear power, medical and first responders industries here in the UK , Americas, and (now) Asia. I'm ex-Plessey, then Siemens and have been with the same employer (through takeover) since age 18 and have never been for an interview elsewhere! I'm now 53 (sh1t).

I put teams of engineers in car companies for new product development programmes. Mostly powertrain. Used to be a designer.

Basically I sell people now.

I've worked in advertising/media since I was 18. I now run a media investment company in a specialised area of the industry.

Business analysis for investment banks and asset managers, basically talking to people who do stuff, working out how it can be improved then guiding them through the changes. Usually means some "transformation" of the business (making people redundant and/or sending the work offshore) which is the only part I don't like.

Respect. I use Scott skis and they absolutely rock. Love 'em to bits. Will be putting them through their paces again next Thursday for a couple of days.

IT Secuirty Consultant working for a big blue American company. I help customers manage Information Risk, Governance and Compliance. I've been working in the IT industry since I was 20 and this year I will have been doing it for 25 years. How time flies. I dream about winning the lotto one day, chucking it all in and managing my own GT racing team.
