One of the grommets from the brake fluid reservoir to the master cylinder has torn and deposited a puddle of fluid all over my garage floor. noticed it 2 hours after the shops ( and my mechanic) shut for the long weekend, of course...
After trying to work out how on earth I could patch it up so I could drive the car, at least short distances, my eyes turned to my other project, a 1984 TVR wedge currently in 1000 bits. 2 of those bits are the brake master cylinder grommets and guess what: they fit perfectly....
I am off now to buy a lottery ticket.

p.s. though only one grommet was torn, both were very soft and spongy, and did not hold the inlet pipe upright, hence the tear and leaking. The part costs pennies so worth checking given the corrosive properties of brake fluid.
