Wedding Proposals

The agreement I have with my girlfriend is that I would buy her an engagement ring before I buy a Maser. Give and take and all that.

However, I haven't the foggiest of what to do with regards to proposal as I'm not really a 'Grand Gesture' type of bloke.
Other than to utter those magical words, "I can buy a Maser now", no! I mean "will you marry me"

How did those of you who are married (and/or divorced) pop the question?

easy fix GC, buy a ring and a maser then pick her up in the maser with the ring on the passenger seat..........

Greg, I had jokingly suggested that before. She said, that she wouldn't have even got as far as looking in the car.
So I guess that is totally out of the question.

I can't help you - we've been together since 1988 & are still thinking about it - time spent in reconnaissance is seldom time wasted

Sounds like a compromise is needed here....
Why not buy and save the ring, then find your perfect Maser....then ask her to view it with you if she says she likes it propose then put down your deposit! Win/win surely?
But in my personal opinion just ensure its a situation where she would never expect it!

If you buy first the ring and second the Maser, then why don't you change the signature from "Maser" to "wedding"..countdown has begun???

Because the Maser will be turning up long before the wedding!
I figure in the next month or so. So I'm going to need a few ideas.

Then keep it simple is my advice. Book a table in a nice restaurant and do the deed at the end.......that way if it does not go to plan, you can split the bill! Lol

Don't waste your money like I did.

Three week holiday in Paris, Monaco, Portafino then the Italian lakes where I hired a chauffeur piloted Riva Aquram to takes us both on a tour of Lake Como then as the sun was going down over the Alps moored at the entrance to Villa*D'este*I popped the question over a bottle of Bubbly....Only for her six months before the wedding to get knocked up by some greasy French Chef she knew when she was a Challet Girl.

Staying single now and saving my money for me.

Sounds like the best way to propose is to do it over a cup of tea and a slice of toast.
Sorted!

So, get the Maser first, tell her you bought a car, then the usual fight will occur for a week or so. Then, go out for a ride in the Maser, and ask her to open the glovebox. There will be the ring. Make sure not to leave in the glovebox condoms, cigars, papers, your ex's handbag etc etc.

Sorry to hear Peter.
