Cheers Phil, you may be in luck Ben. I've got the very car, just not listed it yet as I'm so busy. Feel free to give me a call on Monday or email me if you wish. Sorry, just read you want a manual, there are no manual Gransports, I've a 4200 cambiocorsa which is strictly speaking a manual, operated by paddles, I've no manuals with a gear lever though, extremely rare car, about 8-9 made on a facelift I believe.

Welcome Ben......as dicky said you can not get a manual gransport but can a 4200.....there are a few manual 4200's about on the classifieds at the moment and as a rule are a little cheaper than the CC paddle shift cars....

I had one of them, loved it.

thanks all. email sent.

I am aware of the cc and how it works. I would rather a proper manual though but a cc on the right car would be ok. clutch replacement is something im concerned about with the cc cars as I'd need a diagnosis done to check if the owner had worn it out by not driving properly with it.

thanks again

Welcome Ben,
Whatever car you decide on, you will need a clutch reading to find out if there is any left..!! The CC box on the 4200 & GS is excellent and a clutch can easily give you around 30K miles, as you say it all depends on how it's driven..!! Some owners have had quite a bit more than that from a clutch..!! Owning a Maserati is addictive and anyone is tempted to use the car as it was intended (it's not for shopping), so you can if you drive it to the maximum, tend to reduce the clutch life if you do it all the time..!!
Cheers

Dicky, you are the expert so almost afraid to say but are Coupe GT facelifts that rare? I only ask as if you check howmanyleft site( not that reliable I know) it shows 145 in 2004 and 186 in 2006, suggesting a tad more?

I understand there to be around 160-170 facelift cars in the uk and around 5% are manual cars. That's the way I did my figures, I may be way off. I'd be very surprised indeed of there were more than say, 20.

Interesting, so by the end it was all CC facelift cars selling then. Who knows manuals may start to rise in value one day as autos become more the norm generally?

Sorry to be picky, but they're both manuals, just that one has paddles and one doesn't. Same gearbox, just clutch operates differently.

Don't start the SMG/CC is it a manual or an auto gearbox debate again, I've been there so many times :D

I take the technical point but they are very different nonetheless, for example if doing a three point turn or crawling in traffic :)

Why would you want to ride the clutch with a manual, when such as the CC box does all that far better on it's own..??
