Well the GTS Auto is still for sale as a June 2013 registered car (is it actually registered yet?). Looking at the trim in a bit more detail relative to mine and cars that were around when I was looking, it appears to actually be an early 2011 build at the latest. How old does a 'new' car have to get before it is not really 'new'?

I bought a Nissan Almera years ago as a daily driver from Motorpoint. It needed a warranty repair and when I took it Nissan they told me that it was out of warranty. I was sold it as being 6 months old with 3,000 on the clock. Turns out it had been sitting in Cyprus and registered on the Nissan system, obviously to fiddle the sales figures, but never actually put on the road.
Needless to say, Motorpoint took it back and blamed everyone but themselves. It made me realise first hand that these types of dealerships have cheap cars for a reason. I wouldn't expect it of a Maserati main dealer though.

I used to have an Impreza WRX a decade ago and I looked at the Motorpoint cars first before I bought it from a UK dealer. They were Cyprus cars and had no rust proofing and some spec deficiencies. To be fair to Motorpoint, the small print on their adverts now explains most things.

If it's an early 2011 build I also wonder what servicing has or hasn't been done in the intervening time, and also how and where it's been stored?

Excellent link, what a find!!! Some of those cars will we worth considerably more than they were when new!

Davy,

Spotted this a week or two back via another site. You are right, there were some of those early '60's Chevys with less than 10 miles on the clock. At auction couple of the Impalas went for $70k !!

Dem,

i remember hearing about a (mythical ?) Alfa dealer in, I think, Famagusta which was still stocked with "new" Alfa's as it was caught in no man's land between the Greek and Turkish sides of the island ....

Should be bothered if they've sat in a semi-flooded old airfield up their axles in filth.............well happened years ago....but.....

You'd like it new...not new old stock....which I'd class as 6-9 mths later

I've been watching a new Focus ST estate in orange. Has been sat outside the dealer's front door for six months so far.

A lot depends on where its stored and how..........has it been started up and driven( 10/15/20 miles) once in a while to keep all parts moving and semi dried out...even on new cars
