I need two new rears and ringing around so far has resulted with no stock and Pirelli don't have anything for at least 8 weeks, any suggestions as the only ones I can get in stock are Bridgestone run flats which a few on here have said don't even go there!

Tried MrTyre, Camskills, Black Circle, Tyresonthedrive, Tyreleader

As a resort I have contacted my MD to see if they have any, but no doubt the prices will be horrendous, waiting for them to call back.

Size are 285/40/ZR18 (101Y)

Thanks Phil just called them and they said they can't be mixed with the front Pirellis and that they only have rears in stock, no fronts!

Who said they can't be mixed?

You shouldn't mix across the axle I agree but come on... The simple solution is to replace the fronts with Toyo's when the Pirelli's wear as they are a better all round tyre.

Thanks Phil, yeah their technical department said not to mix across the car, but looks like I have no option now as MD have come back with no stock and Pirelli are showing a lead time of 8 weeks +

It's because Pirelli are running a 25% off deal with Kwik Fit currently so the stocks have been exhausted.
I have Pirellis P Zeros all round currently which I am less then happy with. The rears have plenty of life on but the fronts are shot so I've just ordered a pair of Conti sport 6 which will go on at the end of the week and then when the rears are gone, I will do the same back there too

I had Bridgestones on the rear with Pirelli on the front before i changed to Pirelli on the rear as well and i definitely prefer the Bridgestone. I don't think they were run flats.

Thanks MAF but all the ones you mentioned were run flats.

I can't find any in stock anywhere, so thanks Phil I have had to order from Tyreleader the Toyo's, hopefully come winter time the Pirelli's will come back into stock, how bad is it to run the Summer tyres in the winter?

I have now got 4 new pirellis on mine and if im honest i regret it.
Handles great but i wish i saved £200 by buying falkens or michelins.

Find the tyre a little noisy and very hard over bumps

I've ordered and paid for 4 pilot sport 4s from Costco

I could have saved £80 by having PS3s on the back but decided not to

I'll be getting them fitted after the respray , just under £500 fitted for 4

Had Pilot Supersports all round fitted to mine a few weeks ago. Car felt better immediately, quieter with a more compliant ride, keener steering and better feedback. Finally got to open the car up and drive the car in anger yesterday and could hardly believe the difference to the cars behaviour compared to the Falkens it had on previously.

The tyre fitter reckoned they are the best tyre on the market in the performance sector and i would be inclined to agree with him.

I'd love to be able to run Pilots but they don't make a size that fits my 18" wheels.

I have thought about buying some nice 19 or 20" wheels but they I get into the realms of harsher rides and identifying the correct profile for those wheels and if I am truthful I like the style of the wheels on my car.

If next winter is as mild as the one we just had it's not an issue at all!

Phil, Soon need some tires on the old 3200GT..they need to sticky in the dry and wear out fairly quickly as I only do 2K a year...any idea's..

I can't see the point of 5 or so year old tyre's with lots of thread left though but gone well over there timed life, compound getting hard with lots of hot and cold cycles etc..

I have had Supersports for a year now, they are harder wearing than the Pirellis I had before and seem grippier, I'm not surprised you like them. As I understand it, the SS have been so popular that Michelin didn't update them half way through the product cycle and invested the saving in PS4s which are the future replacement in all sizes. I have also heard good things about the PS4. I had Michelins on my BMW too and would't choose anything else, but it is very much a personal choice!

I had Good Year Eagle AS2 on my AC Dave and they stuck like glue - great rim protection as well as being good in the wet
