Evenin all

On my 4200 spyder I have rear continentals at 265 R 35 18 and on the front ( I know they are not as wide), 235 ZR 40 18

First question is there a difference between ZR and R ?

Second question should there be a difference in profile between front and back ?

Need two rears anyway so thought I would ask to ensure I get the right ones.

Thanks all looks like summer / spring is coming. ..... Don't want to speak too soon but....

According to the manual:

235/40 R18 Front
265/35 R18 Rears

So yes, there should be. You see to have the correct sizes :)

Falken 453's are regarded as being a good choice (including by myself)

Ok thanks I will source the required rubber in the current sizes.

Are the Falkens as good as the Conti's?

Can't comment on comparable qualities, since I've only driven my 4200 on no-name, wrong profile, junk, and the 453's
The 453s seem utterly excellent however, compared to the Bridgestone Potenzas I had on my 3.2 GT.

Most folk seem happy with Falkens Max. The Michelin's and Bridgestone Potenzas are so dear that it's a no brainer. Not heard anything bad about them.

The Falkens are very reasonably priced. IIRC I paid £250ish for a pair of rears. May have been more like £300 in fact. Still not earth shattering in absolute terms of tyres.

Sounds good what is the road noise like ? I guess no different from say Continentals plus with those Larini's who cares?

I have the 453's on the front and the noise is better than the Michelins they replaced. 452's on the back. We'll see how well they last after Llandow in a couple of weeks.

I run Falkens on the Porsche, really upset the dealer but they last as long and are half the price of the Porsche aproved Bridgestones plus I have noticed no difference in grip but maybe a tad more compliance in the ride at the standard setting so I upped the pressure 2psi and perfect.
