I dont think that price is too bad. It depends on what kit it comes with. To put it in perspective my "new" Gransport diesel with all the bells and whistles that this Trofeo seems to have as standard (thinking especially pricey options like Skyhook, LEDs all round, carbon etc..) was listed at around £78k.
Yes mine was an ex demo78k for a diesel Ghibli....Bloodyhell that's a lot ....... I wouldn't have expected the diesel to be max 60k..They surely aren't worth 78k....Get most would never pay that as they are discounted I take it.?...You can usually get a feel for what the car should be priced at by the discount given I always think......This new Trofeo feels like it should be 85/90k...but hey I'm never going to be able to offers to buy new so it's sort of irrelevant. Hope they sell well though.

The list for a new diesel is around 54k, with the Gransport adding about 10 to that. And as Im sure you can imagine, you can soon add plenty to that with options
Do they still come on the semi slick tyres? The one I saw last winter on a low loader with a caved in rear certainly had them on.It's just stunning really. I've had a lot of different performance cars old and new by now, and for a new car this tops the lot. Refined and more comfortable than and AMG or M product yet the steering is just SO much better and it dances deftly on it's feet. It's also savagely quick by most standards 3.9 sec 0-60 and 191mph flat out. The Gearbox is also great, smooth but the paddles are very tactile and and it's quick to react. The engine also has plenty of low end shove but rev's out with gusto for a turbo motor. Also love the looks and exclusivity. I could go on, but it feels like a really really special everyday car. Gushing over!!!
Check out the ceramic coating thread Ive posted a few pics on there..Yes, some of those option prices are just shocking. Ex demo... Great deal I bet and it looks amazing in that colour. Would be interested in what you think as a daily drive... running costs etc and you get further into ownership

As for running costs this replaced a diesel Ghibli that had 108k on it when I sold it. Running cost wise it wasnt cheap but I think if you avoid MD servicing (which I didnt do!) then its not too bad. Part prices can be eye watering though (example headlamp wash failed, 1k to replace!!)
I was quoted around £900 by MD for the last service on the last car. I got it done for around £400 (using Maserati parts) by my local trusted garage. I then bought an OBD star code reader to reset the service indicator for around £200, and was still saving £300 on the price, and now I have the reader for subsequent services.Parts prices are what will ultimately kill Maserati as we saw on the thread about the dented QPV. They still seem to think that they are a Ferrari sister company and price accordingly. As for getting these cars serviced outside the dealer network sure it helps a bit but it parts make up such a large amount of any bill it does not make as big an overall reduction as you would like and there are only a small number of specialists who will happily work on these cars.
Good effort. The killer is when you need bits outside of a service - suspension components being a good example.I was quoted around £900 by MD for the last service on the last car. This is true, but not too dissimilar with most marques... some years back I opted for an 'X100' Jaguar XK8 over the XKR, one of the things that helped me sleep at night was the lesser cost of remediating non-service items... for example the XKR had the 'CATS' suspension, which cost an arm and a leg (pun intended) to replace... the XK8 didn't have this of course.Good effort. Slightly 'balanced' by the fact that a Ghibli diesel can be picked up for not much money at all?Maserati will kill itself with the cost of servicing and parts. At the end of the day it's a diesel and people buy these as they need to do the miles. Maserati or not £800 for a service is shocking for a diesel....
It is the only thing that puts me off as would live one as a daily.
Of course they can but if the parts cost loads of dosh then the bill will still be very high even on half price labour.Yeah but much of that can be done by an Indy as well. I had my 4200 wishbones repaired with a load of photos. Had the bushes changed on the GT as well

...but then again a second hand 530d will be cheap to buy too.Slightly 'balanced' by the fact that a Ghibli diesel can be picked up for not much money at all?
Brakes were expensive for what they are, but in 108k miles I spent money on the headlight washers and I cant think of any other mechanical bits at all..Good effort. The killer is when you need bits outside of a service - suspension components being a good example.

I Don’t think there is anything wrong with yearly or 12k mile service intervals on Diesels, what is wrong is the £120 plus an hour just to change the oil and filter. I have my Alfa 159 serviced every year by autolusso £ 200 for basic and £250 for premium inc vat. So l have basic 1st year and premium year 2. If l had Ghibli diesel l would take it to them or my mate in Reading who has 3 Maserati’s and they would do a better job for half what main dealers do.
