Trickle charger

The lights are about what stage of charging/conditioning the charger is doing, and depending on which mode it is in, it may be that that some don't apply, or that it jumps from say step 5 to step 7. The battery is ready to start the engine when step 4 is lit, and is fully charged when step 7 is lit. Step 8 means the battery is fully charged and the charger is just monitoring it and giving it the occasional pulse to top it up as required.

My charger is permanently plugged in and screwed to the back wall of my garage, and every now and then I connect the car upto it

Cheers everyone. I got a Ctek MXS 5.0 from amazon. In fact it arrived today. Will plug it in over the weekend.

Car hasn't been used since end of Nov.

Give it a few days Hoyin and it will really condition your battery, don't start the car, just connect it up and leave it, I have found it takes between 2-3 days before it comes up with a green light on the unit, hope that helps?

You bet. Though strangely when it has been this long you kind of forget about it and I am not that bothered.

Man flu is gone! Hurrah. Almost picked up a new one last weekend!! But managed to kill it within 1 day. So was a close call.
