I've used Shiply a few times, with no hassles. Especially if you are flexible with timescales, prices can be surprisingly good .

Use Dan who did most of the moves for Sports Italia, and I have used him for c8 times over the last 4 years.

His rates are decent and the Co is Auto Haul.

They're surprisingly good because a lot of them are cowboys who'll put a 2t car on a 3.5t truck or tow without a tachograph hoping they can blag the copper it's not a business

It's also like a reverse auction if you're trying to find work u till somebody does it for a mars bar

Do you not have recovery cover as part of your insurance?
Your car breaks down in Bristol, and is then recovered to Emblem in Poole, for example.
I’ve forgotten how many times my Maseratis have been recovered to them!
BTW, Emblem use HP Transport, so you could also ask them.
Here‘s the latest time, from a few months ago:

I can recommend a guy, runs legally with a doublecab pickup & trailer so weight isn't an issue

He's based in Coventry but if he's in the area I'm sure he'd give you a good rate

Thanks guys, its for a service at Emblem, they have a recommended guy but its in a premium covered unit so a bit expensive ( I love my 12 year old Grandcab but it doesnt need pampering that much ) will give Dan a ring.

Another recommendation for Dan. Lost count of the number of times transported from here (Gloucestershire) to Sportsitalia

i beg to differ, the company that brought my alfa Junior over from Italy to UK was found through Shiply, yes you do get probably some cowboys but if you sift through and use some due diligence there are good professional outfits that quote through Shiply. I was very impressed with them and the price was very competitive compared to some ridiculous prices i was getting when ringing transporters direct.

The two blokes Dick Lovett sent to pick up a Porsche Spyder from my brother he’d sold to Lovett.
This is the kind of thing I'm talking about

They had a picture of some numbnuts with a taycan on a 3.5t truck a couple of weeks ago

There's no way a modern 3.5t car transporter can carry anything more than a 1300kg car and be legal
Jag XF weight is around 1800kg so this one must have bricks in the boot

that should be on a 3.5t trailer or a 7.5t transporter
Both need tachographs, one an operators licence as well

The problem with transport is professional companies charge more because they abide by the rules, chancers don't so they quite often get the work because they're cheaper.

Yes you will get people going home with empty trucks on Shiply when you can get a good price, it's what happens to your car if they get stopped if they're overloaded , impounded with a recovery fee plus a daily charge usually

That’s the sort of thing Dick Lovett sent 200 miles to pick up my brother’s Porsche Spyder which he had sold them and hadn’t been weighed in at that point. Couple of Polish guys, went to load it on the transporter and it scraped all the underside. My brother got on the phone to Lovett’s and said they’re not taking that car, send a decent car transport vehicle which they did.
This is the supposed one of the top Ferrari/ Porsche dealers in the country. I think the son has something to do with Collecting Money sorry I mean Collecting Cars auction site.
