Towing eye needed QPV

Unless it's hidden somewhere I haven't looked, I can't seem to locate my towing eye.

Just been giving the boot a Hoover and noticed that there wasn't a natural space for jack, towing eye, wheel brace etc.

I carry a torque wrench round anyway and have the compressor and gunk, but if something happens that renders the car undriveable and needing a recovery I might be scuppered.

Anyone got one going spare or know whether a Punto etc eye fits ?

Incidentally, on the subject of recovery if I or anyone else ever needs it, is there a do and don't list ?

Cheers

Jonny

Limited slip differentials on them so towing is a no no! although possibly lifting the rear only may be possible I wouldn't want it as the front splitter would be vulnerable...

I think it is intended for compliance to EU legislations and for winching onto a transporter...

Aha ! So that explains the lack of towing eye then. So what happens if say the clutch goes ? How do they get it on a flatbed ?

As standard the QP comes with a tool kit that includes a towing eye, some spanners, etc. Normally kept in the boot, under the boot, under the boot. (The boot under the spare wheel boot, under the real boot).

Yes - there's a small cover on the front, over the threaded socket for the towing eye. Only really for winching onto a trailer, as has been said.

There's no proper space for a jack and wheel brace, but the tool kit fits under the bottom boot panel very nicely, and should contain a towing eye. Willing to bet one from another car may well fit - it's only a matter of finding one with the right thread, given that it should almost never be used.

Thanks all - so that'll be the toolkit in the black styrofoam case, in the blue nylon wallet in the boot.

I'll get my coat.....
