Torx wheel bolts

Has anyone ever found any Torx wheel bolts to fit the Granturismo series? I much prefer the look of them and they would also give a bit of a security boost. I know Pogipollini used to do titanium bolts, but they were close on a grand a set. Don;t want them that much, black steel or stainless would do me

I have security bolts that I got on Ebay from a Porsche dealer in fact for about £120 IIRC. Genuine thing in Maserati packaging, very good deal I thought.

Not actually Torx, though.

i always thought a nice upgrade would be titanium wheel bolts. they often come with torx heads, and are not *that* expensive. Anyone tried?

I can imagine them being full of crud when you actually want to change them. My security bolts came with little plastic covers to prevent that.

I have seen them in Ti, but it was close on a grand for a set of 20. Nice, but not that nice.

What is the advantage of these torx bolts over a standard Bolt?

On the 4200 I can imagine there's rather less chance of scratching your wheels as you try to get the socket on. I guess your average wheel thief (are there such things any more) is less likely to be carrying a set of torx bits, but other than that <shrug>

I bought my security bolts (which have a 'keyed' bit) because my bolts were in a **** of a state, and they were dead cheap.

IMHO the unsprung weight reduction, for the titanium option, is quite important. They are about half the weight of the steel ones. It may sound like a joke but this is once case where a few grams can make a difference. Other than that, the chrome bolts do tarnish. The security thing is not important to me as I never leave my car in a public place.

Technically true.

Managed to get hold of these genuine maserati security bolts with torx profile.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Maserati-GranTurismo-GranCabrio-Quattroporte-Locking-Wheel-Bolt-Kit-/322395830749?cp=1&sojTags=bu%3Dbu&bu=43081624733&euid=c8af528b17954940b30e89de876b9a44&nma=true&si=5QyUGJgqVkUQ530iTRzr9ChwCdg%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Only paid £60 through a guy on ebay. Apparently he acquired them through the maserati dealer. Think he said they cost about £140.00.
