Hi all,

Does the 2005 QP motor use timing belts, chains, or is it gear driven?

Thanks,

Pat.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Is the chain something that needs attention at any stage?

Pat.

Its supposed to be a none serviceable item, but with all chains, they become noisy over time and that is the point to service/replace them.

As a rule of thumb chains are good for 100k miles plus and your service technician will let you know if they are getting noisy.

If you want something to worry about, worry about the oil pump over 50k miles. If your car is a keeper I personally would change this around 65/70k miles. Your looking at £1500 but its worth doing IMHO.
