Thoughts on Auto-Seal puncture prevention please

A 3k mile 3 week grand tour with many passes down through the Alps/Garda/Dolomites is planned for June. Insurance to include consequential loss in the case of a puncture (difficult to get) is obtained, but we still don’t want one so are thinking of putting Auto-Seal into the tyres. They will have to be new tyres (PS4’s) as I only have about 4mm of tread left on my existing ones. Any thoughts/experiences please. (And if anyone wants to come in a support vehicle they are welcome!)

I use it in the tyres of various garden/farm machines and it doesnt stop punctures from happening.
If I were you I‘d just take a couple of cans of fresh tyre repair/weld (at about £10 each) and a pump and be done with it. That would be adequate to get you to a garage for a better repair or replacement.

It’s just putting crud in your tyre that doesn’t really work and then needs cleaning when you change tyres.

I’ve done tens of thousands of miles around Europe on motorbikes without a spare. And you don’t give it a thought.

Anyway even if you do carry a repair system sometimes the valve disintegrates and you can’t do anything anyway.

Just get recovered to the local tyre place. All part of the adventure.

I carry this,https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/123654898177?hash=item1cca680201:g:5ocAAOSw90piKmkp OK it's not legal for road use in the Uk, but if it gets you home it will be worth it.
I do exactly the same - in all my cars even if there is a spare.
Once you find the offending nail it’s easier / quicker and possibly safer than changing the wheel. You get an effective semi permanent repair that can be correctly repaired with no fuss / cleaning out the spray in gunk.

Counter to other experience, I've used Goop to great success in the past

C
I hit a piece of metal , put the supplied mercedes stuff in , lasted the 24 hours until I could get it replaced
The tyre guy at Costco was amazed it'd sealed it as it was a cut not just a nail
