Cars whose companies are gone...saab and mg.

Cars aside, i just removed a set of well paid Iron Maiden's Dave Murray Stratocaster pickups...let's see how much they will sell...

My Mr parlanchin did that , plastic shattered, can't scare my sister with it any more , she's 60 now but it'd probably still freak her out like it did when she was 8

That is freakin’ terrifying! I bet you used to scare her with it - leave it in her bed, wardrobe, clothes drawer eh?

Good idea for a thread lol.

We (me and my brother as most things were shared presents) kept a few things from childhood, but all very used and not really for future gain. Just because we thought they were worth keeping.
When I have time I'll have to dig some out.
Eg, Scalectrix, some star wars stuff, sinclair spectrum 48, packman, invaders from space.
I also still have my 1983 mk1 Rayleigh cromo burner BMX.
Is the bike the original, hardly ever seen even in period, Pro Burner? Think it was finished in chrome with blue bits? Was succeeded by the much more successful and ubiquitous Aero Pro Burner? (Notable for oval ish 'aero' tubing). If so that should be worth a few quid. Very rare.
(Sorry fir the bmx geek-out!)

Christ. Scared me now!
We're doing a Halloween thing again this year for the. Probably dolls....

This was a couple of years back:

All over the drains. On people's bins. Tied to their doors.

They were freaking out all over.

It's a 1983 mk1 Cromo Burner (Tange japan loop back frame same as Kuwahara Nova ). I believe it was one model down from the Pro Burner, but from what I can see, the loop back frame might be the only difference and I believe they are actually rarer?
I am the second owner of it from about 1987 onwards, and it's unchanged from the day I got it.
My dad got it second hand for me for Christmas. It was/is actually stickered up as a Skyway, and until about 15 years ago, that's what I always thought it was. It was only when I moved house and I got it out the loft I looked up the serial number that it became aparrent what it was.

You probably know more than me about them lol. I'll dig out a few more pics if your actually interested? Lol

Wow, I don't remember that Burner at all lol. Burners actually came out before I got a bmx, and I was still ogling mates' ones while stuck with my horrible knackered (stuck in 3rd gear) Grifter.
I remember the first range vividly...
- Standard Burner (i think blue or red paint with spoke wheels)
- Super Burner (as above spec but gold metallic finish)
- Tuff Burner (like standard but with Skyway Tuff wheels)
- Ultra Burner (like Super but with Araya lightweight wheels)
- Pro Burner (I never saw one of these in real life just remember it from the brochure. It was short lived and replaced by the aero pro burner)

Loads of kids got Tuff / Super and Ultra Burners, in the 'second wave' to me of bmx ownership.... before that, early adopters near me had Team Murrays, or if you were spoilt or wealthy, a Mongoose or Diamond Back.
Exotic American beasts by makes you'd never heard of.

Meanwhile I looked on with raging jealousy, stuck on my Grifter....

But when my Dad relented, he really came up trumps... took me to a "sale bikes warehouse" to choose my B day present and there was, in among some generic rubbish bmx's (Stormer maybe?) A Kuwahara! Heavily discounted too, at £140. These should have been more like £200 which was Mongoose territory.
So no brainer, bought the Ku and loved it. Never met anyone else who had one either..

Until about a year ago, met a guy about my age who had a mini collection of classic BMX, including a Kuwahara, a Skyway freestyler, (never saw one of them either back in day. They were in the Bugatti league...) and a Mongoose. All of them mint.
They were all worth 4 figure amounts each now.

Also recently saw a restored PK Ripper (remember them? £400 in day. Another in the Rolls Royce league when a Tuff Burner was £120) - for sale in an antiques shop for £4 grand...

I've also seen Kuwahara ET edition for sale recently asking 4 or 5 grand.

Anyway if your Burner is mint, surely must be £2k+ ?

Hate to break it to you but that's got the wrong wheels on.... Real Skyway Tuffs were 5 spoke!
Someone's deleted the best bit of your bike!
Get the lawyers out
Not really as I have the original wheels but the problem with these is they crack around the spokes which is what has happened to the ones I have. Originals are hard to find but there are lots of repos out there
