Apparently the verdict amongst many is disappointment with the quality and longevity of the Omega MoonSwatch materials, with the glass scratching easily and buttons falling off.

Yet has not dampened demand so this I suppose this was inevitable…

Just received this gift from someone who knows I’ve been wanting to get my hands on one but haven’t got the time to queue and be part of Swatch’s visual marketing campaign around the MoonsSwatch.

Let me just add that it’s best classified as an homage! But if I had not been told that, I would not have really known…

Took my daily off yesterday at work and popped it in my trouser pocket to stop it getting damaged. Got home, tired and dirty. Chucked clothes in washing machine. Woke up this morning and wondered where my watch was.

Phew. It came out all clean and shiny, still running.

So after having my Rolex Day Date watch ripped off my wrist by a scroat in Barcelona a few years ago I have decided to now get another.
Can someone suggest where to buy a pre owned one (don't really care about age so long as watch is in good condition). I would prefer to replace the one stolen with a similar one, it had a (non Rolex) diamond bezel and a champagne face with diamonds on the relevent numbers.
I don't mind buying from someone reputable or from an auction as long as it is genuine and not a fake! Trouble is that from my research there are a lot of very good copies out there.
I'll take any help from any member on here.
Thanks for reading.

Hi Phil sorry to hear that. There was an article the other day saying that it’s more lucrative to steal high end watches than deal drugs. Anyway I think I introduced you to my Rolex master technician Mike. He also sells watches. I would drop him a line. Trustworthy and a top bloke. Alternatively I am happy to put you in touch with my friend Pete he runs the watch fair at the National Motorcycle Museum. Pete has one of the biggest stocks of pre owned Rollies in the Country. Again another sterling bloke. DM me if you need further help.

Hi Koz,
Thanks for info. The watch fair at the national motorcycle museum looks very interesting and I can get there on 2nd July. Have you been to that event yourself, if so what's it like?
If you could also put me in touch with Pete who can maybe give me some pointers on what to look for I would appreciate it. I'm just not sure I have got the confidence to purchase without some help. I'm guessing all traders there have been vetted for being legitimate and only selling authentic products. This could be the perfect way to buy a pre owned watch.
Many thanks
Phil

Yep go there regularly. Pete and his wife run it. I would personally only buy from Mike or Pete. But there are other reputable people there. I will DM you Pete’s number. Call him he’s a lovely bloke. Will probably have a ‘President’ in stock or will be able to source one.
