Hi I am new to this forum and considering buying my first Maserati, a Gransport from The Supercar Rooms, I would like to ask if anyone has had dealings with this garage and can recommend them. Cheers

I know Phil on here samg their praises a few years back so he may be along soon...That's New Zealand come French Phil. I believe they have a decent reputation but for some reason I thought there was a thread on here about them going under last year....I may be wrong though.

If you are looking for a GS I would start with Richard Grace cars. He is well respected on here and what he doesn't know about Maserati isn't worth knowing. A few members have bough their Maserati's from him and gave never looked back. I believe he has a few just about to come into stock. Most sell before they hit his web site. Plus even if he doesn't have anything currently he will give you great advice. Well worth a call.

Agreed. Richard knows and stocks the good cars out there. Well worth a phone call. Bought my GS from him Sept 2016. 2 years trouble-free ownership.

Dicky has a couple of Gransports coming in I believe at similar money to the ones at Supercar Rooms.

I certainly found them to be very good a few years ago and went to their open days once in my 456 and then in my 360.
Their workshops were Dealer level and had some Great cars for sale.
Not sure if they are the same people any more though.

There is a thread which was closed - interesting reading though. Perhaps best not to reopen here but seemingly more to the "story" than was first presented.

Surely we have a few great and well looked after cars in the forums for sale too. ???

As it happens I'm toying with the idea of moving mine on to make way for something more family orientated as my wife and I are expecting our first. Looking at an XC60 on the weekend as I've realised rather late that the Mito (most practical of the 3!) isn't up to the job.

I purchased mine a couple of years ago from another forum member via Richard (good experience). Looked after by Autoshield since and has recent clutch, good brakes (pads and discs), brand new tyres all round, and will have 12 months MOT and service.

Worried it might be a while before I'm in a V8 again if I do let it go though!

Congratulations! Exciting times...

Don't rush into it. I part-ex'd my 4200 for a Skoda (yes, you read that right) when we had twins 5 years ago and regret it. The Mito will likely be fine for one.

Put the V8 in storage for a year or so if you feel you won't use. It'll be harder to replace than you think.

Or give it to me :)

The Mito will be good to start with. I always found 3 door cars a lot easier to strap them in and out of as you were facing them and not trying to do up clips etc from the side. You just need something bigger when you need to take their wheels with you.

Thought that when I had a look to see what had yesterday. I know Dicky does sell stock before it hits his web site though and he did say he had 3 GS's coming in....one in BF.

Looks like Mr Grace needs some stock. Perhaps he has gone on a nice long holiday but the cupboard is pretty bare.

I certainly do, only had a week away. It’s been so busy, a few cars have sold before I’ve listed them and as mentioned, I’ve a few cars due in in the next week or two.

Probably a good time to buy, owners having used them for the majority of the summer and deciding to offload before the winter.

That really was commited! I am reluctant to let it go and my wife also doesn’t want me to. Not that she likes the car mind, just worried I will regret it if it makes way for a family workhorse.

I do have the option of storing the car in a barn in N Ireland. Not sure what I will do about servicing etc whilst over there though and conscious these cars don’t like to sit.

That’s what I thought and exactly what I’ve been saying to my wife.

However, when trying the car seat and pram we bought, it quickly became apparent that we are going to struggle.

The car seat only just fits through the gap between door frame and front seat, and we can only get the buggy in the back by removing wheels etc.

Pretty sure that’s all going to get tired very quickly!

I’ve said this time and again, buy a new buggy not a new car. It’s like folk who don’t buy a house because their sofa won’t fit.
