Frank,
I'm quite staggered at the amount of good metal still available on the car, OK it's rusty and some thinner panels are shot, but I reckon a good sand blasting might just surprise you. Am I seeing this correctly, does this car have electronic suspension..?? I am impressed with you taking this project on, hats off..!!
Cheers

Rob...my Yorkshire friend........:)

Believe it or not, it had whats called sliding pillar suspension.....consisting of two tubes sliding inside one another filled with a type of hydraulic fluid....just on front though........de Dion at back........its almost pre war and was a more "primitive" version of the Citroen hydraulic suspension which ran off a pump, the Lancias just had a reservoir.

I intend to ensure the guy uses a lower PSI to sandblast it due to age of metal....but as doors, bonnet, rear wings and boot lid are aluminium, will just soda blast those.

Frank,
Would it take garnet blasting, I've heard those are good and recoverable so you save a bit on the cost?? That suspension is quite advanced then for the year, amazing..!!

That B20 looks very much like an Alvis..??
Cheers

The B20....was THE coupe of the 50s Rob....finished 2nd in the Mille Miglia....behind a 4.2 litre Ferrari.

The Alvis was conference league compared to this premier division car!

Not worried about the sand blasting cost aspect.........not heard of garnet blasting.....
