The "Other" Car...

So rather than piling on miles on the GT (and other reasons listed in a previous thread), I drive a Mazda 3 for my daily commute.

Yes, I know, polar opposite of the Maser, but it's cheap and reliable to run.

Was thinking if that's a similar phenom amongst owners or do most here use their Maser as a daily.

It's about 50/50 for me and my other car so I suppose for me, both cars are the 'other' car.

My other car is a Maserati. We have a Qashqai to soak up the miles but I use a Maser everyday too.

Train is my daily. GTS and 911 are both toys and wife's Merc CLS is the real daily in the household.

The other car is a Train, Plane or rental car via work...only use a car of my own for nice things these days.

If I have to appear respectable, the Giulietta, if not one of the bikes. For nipping into town, probably the Jimny although it's main role in life is lugging horsey gear about between home and the stables/paddock and other van type duties. I am tending to use the Maser much more now as a daily since my mileage has come right down.

My daily smoker is a 335D but if I need to go long distances I use the naggers 320D. My work vehicle is an A330 and the spyder is my toy. I don't do the mileage I used to in the spyder but it's now more of an event when I do take her out and I still enjoy every mile I do in her. My bikes don't get much use these days; last year I managed only 6 miles on the Aprilia and that was to the MOT and back. I also have an old Lancer Turbo in the garage which I will get back on the road one day.

Alfa GT smoker as daily and winter wheels. 32 only for summer weekend jaunts...........unfortunately if the sun really comes out I'm forced to go out by SWMBO in her beetle convertible to some antique thingie or other (hangs head in shame...)

I used to commute from Bristol to Newbury. If i had used the Maser daily, the combined fuel and depreciation cost would have halved my day rate!

I'm not rich enough, I'm afraid, to put 25,000-30,000 miles a year on a posh car.

Nor I, but I do about 8k a year. That I can just about afford!
Can't afford a new 4C, though ;)

Mito diesel is my daily, with some strong mods, as my daily in the past used to be a saab and a S3 (335 and 350hp). Just love it, my back doesn't though, cause it has now a bilstein b14 coilover suspension, and things get hard inside the cabin :) But it's a weapon on streets with sharp curves.

As Peter states, i also drive approx 40k kms per year. Besides, i use my daily for transporting construction things to my working area...like cement, shovels, bricks etc...wouldn't do that in the 4200..

Current bangornomics ride is a 147 2.0 Lusso, £700 and it will be driven until it goes wrong.

Have quite a few other toys as spares should the need arise (see signature) :)

My 159 ti is my runabout/mile muncher. Mrs MAF has a 2-series BMW to cover family duties and there's a old Audi convertible if the sun comes out. Yellow GS is used for fun only, not sure about where the new purchase fits into things yet - maybe to enjoy a Maser experience in a quieter way?!
