Hey guys haven't been around in a while, however, since I sold my other Maserati to a Client, I started looking for another one. I am looking at getting a U.S. version MC Stradale. In the process of performing PPI's on vehicles it renewed my endeavor to write another article of the importance of PPI's, and what to watch for.

Hopefully, this article will help someone in this process, or will be in it in the future:

Why Should I Pay for a Pre-Purchase Inspection for My Exotic? (And what to watch for) | craig-waterman.com

You do a Stirling job Craig and I'm guessing the Forum are still in bed.
Appreciated down here in NZ outside with a jug of Sangria and having Crêpes Suzette ;)

What is your opinion of buying from a Ferrari/Maserati dealer? I was under the assumption that if the car is A1, they would sell it directly. If it's a trade in and not A1, they move it on as a trade sale. Should a PPI still be a requirement if they have enough faith to sell it with a warranty under the Ferrari/Maserati umbrella?

Sorry guys I did add the hyperlink. I thought it was attached last night. I appreciate it Gentlemen, it's hard to post Articles like I used to but I'm trying.

Swedish Paul to answer your question. No not all the time. I know we'd like to believe that. I honestly feel it's always necessary to get a PPI done. I am pretty sure I even remember Voicey doing a PPI on a Ferrari at a main dealership over there and it had been resprayed on the back of the car. I remember him, being not so happy with how it was done.

However lets take a case in point right off of eBay. Now I realize the person himself isn't a main dealer selling the car right now. But look, at his advertisement about the car, certified pre-owned with factory bumper to bumper warranty until 2020. The car only has 5000 miles and it has a rebuilt title, which means it was Salvaged out by the insurance company. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2015-Maserati-Gran-Turismo-MC-Centennial-Edition/162818092730?hash=item25e8b6eeba:g:cNEAAOSw5dlaG1pe&vxp=mtr

You can pick up the gearbox in Europe for about £2k. Just a few bits of wiring, ECU, paddles, clutch, release bearing, fluid and software and you'd be there ! Given your skills mate, I suspect you could manage this!

Don't tempt me.....lol. I have seen the "Race" button set that is on the right of the Media screen on sell out of Ebay Australia already. Wouldn't it be crazy to have the only real Stradale on the U.S Continent? These guys are touchy when you tell them they aren't selling a true Stradale, but it's true. Additionally, the owners are that much more touchy about it, as they should be I guess. I feel the entire car would feel different with an F1 Stradale car. Supposedly, they re-designed the shift software for the ZF transmission Stradale for more performance based shifting. I can't stand some of the other ZF cars that won't let you red-line it, and take complete control before shifting it. It automatically takes over and shifts for you. I feel all these engines come alive when you stick the fuel pedal to the floor and shift it right before the engine can't take anymore.
