Morning All

Sorting out the Jeep water pump today, joy of it breaking at the moment about to trade it in !!!! fab. Few contract reviews and then a customer escalation to resolve and attempting to get 3 timezones together on one call is my challenge of the morning.

Short spin out later to buy some buckets, hunt down a grit catcher and a new hose as well..

morning.....every day is just the same now...not many viewings or valuations...very boring...slowing down for xmas

Slow-down time is a chance to get your thinking cap on, Dem. Look back at the busy times and the problems, look for new opportunities. In projects we sometimes do a SWOT analysis.

Strengths - where are your advantages over others and how can you exploit them?
Weaknesses - what disadvantages do you have and how can you overcome them or turn them round?
Opportunities - what external things can you use or use better to improve things?
Threats - what external things are getting in our way of achieving your goal?

: )

On the other hand Dem... you could just get some networking (long) Lunches in... tis the season... nearly... If you've got development deals.. ideally where I can make a planning gain, that you can discuss I'm happy to stand you a lunch and talk them through...

Afternoon everyone, just back from a solicitor's appointment to make a start on new wills for Nicola & I, quite a sobering thought. We have been together since 1988 but are not married so need to make sure everything is written down. We have no children but dogs that need to be looked after should we both go together.

With no direct descendants, we intend to try to spend most of what is left in our estate as we get old but have to decide where it goes should we both go tomorrow. We have nominated a number of charities but it was a real eye opener to here how they operate when they know that they have been named in a will. Their 'legacy' departments are all over the estates like a rash, valuing everything to make sure they get what they deem is rightfully theirs - some of them sound like right vultures!

Let's hope the rest of the day is a little more positive - have a good one everybody

Good of you, Ive had many probates over the years, many charities involved, I must say, it puts me off giving to them the way some of them behave...worse than greedy vendors.....

Yes, a real eye opener for us - I think we will be re-thinking which charities are the beneficiaries and choose those that really need it & who don't receive too many gifts - or maybe spend more in the future, when's that Alfieri launch date again?!

Morning Andy and all.

Dave Gorman was pretty good last night, certainly better than on his tv programs, but was blown away by his warm-up support - Nick Doody. Very funny man indeed!

Don't forget power of attorney, often overlooked, but after I have experienced it first hand with my father, it is a valuable tool should either of you suffer from dementia/ Alzheimer's etc. in later life. He organised it as soon as he realised he was having symptoms. Much to the dismay of those after his money. Can't really say any more...

Morning all. Working from home today, which makes a nice change. Hopefully we have enough coffee in the cupboard to see me through.

Have a good day, everyone.
