I'm quite enjoying being liberated from work apart from my own projects here.Morning, all. Today the sun is shining and, for the first time in about 15 years. I have no job to go to. It's a bit liberating and a bit scary. Mostly liberating. If things go to plan I shall take the summer off, bar a few assignments deviling for myself, and then start getting busy again in September. But not until after Le Mans. Let's see. This whole bat-flu thing has made the markets a bit more skittish, but there's no hurry.
Until then, I shall be dong not much from the comfort of my own home. Coffee time. Nice.

Didn't think it would be for 6 months but I'm not skint yet and the French Government are going to keep assisting me till the end of the year.
Certainly not missing Trains, Airports and Hotel rooms on my own.
Enjoy it whilst you can.
Stay positive FC.That's it. My schedule is my own. No one telling me what needs to be done or by when, the expected quality of it, no escalations, no need to make impossible financial projections. This is the life!
Oh, hang on... Mrs Crud wants something...

Ms French will be starting a job in September so for me it gets easier and I'm happy to prepare meals and do some laundry whilst playing in my workshop
Afternoon all. Been flat out all morning. It would appear that work is kinda getting back to some kind of norm for me.
Which can only be a good thing I guess.
Are you off to sign on at the Job Centre this week @Felonious Crud ? Or due to Covid can you do it on line now? Sorry to hear you're now one of the great unwashed.
It would appear that thousands have joined you having listened to the news earlier.
Back at coal face @dem maser as you say. Better times ahead!
Despite my more than generous contributions to the Chancellor's coffers, Mark, I'm not sure my financial circumstances allow me to sign on. Happily, the consulting market can be reasonably lucrative. I just need to convert from a few hours here and there to a few days here and there to some more medium-term assignments. The most lucrative assignments tend to be fairly short-term - 10 days or so - but if I could notch up a few of them alongside some longer-term retainers than going back to a full-time job would be an unnecessary inconvenience. Of course, I can fantasise all I like. We're at the start of summer and almost nothing will happen for at least six weeks. Which means I get to have a nice summer, but just need to keep a close eye on the cash to make sure it doesn't run out before I tire of being a bit retired. If I'm still mucking about doing DIY by next summer, someone please give me a shake.
Sounds like a plan. Just make sure the missus doesn't want a new kitchen or such like!
Otherwise it's back to the grindstone, sooner rather than later!
Well, that's the challenge. There is the matter of the new bathroom. And the related plumbing 'upgrades'.
We had a new downstairs cloakroom recently. I think Mrs Eb must have googled "Most expensive tap you can possibly find" and then designed the rest to fit around it. £ Per square m it must be the most opulant room in the house!Well, that's the challenge. Lucky her google skills are not that good and she's a bit of a luddite when it comes to interweb! But it was close to a grand including the slot waste. Who know there was such a thing as a slot waste FFS!

I took 6 months out back in 2016, the very first thing I did was buy the GTS the next was to plan my road trip to Bologna. I used the time to get my head straight (well sort of) and then jumped headfirst into a new venture, investing far too much money and now am more stressed than I have ever been ....... it will be 3-4 years before I get another chance to take a break and that will be retirement.Morning, all.
