But utterly soulless?

Don't agree Phil.....thought the new turbo engine would spoil it but it didn't.....handled like a dream, went like **** off a shovel and put a big smile on my face especially in the bends. It was loads of fun....Interior beautifully build and a lovely place to be. Looks are subjective but for me it's one of then best looking 911's. Not really sure what soulless means as we do seem to use it for Italian cars all the time.....perhaps it's a word used to cover their short comings or perhaps it's another word to say you can't use the car everyday....or is it just based on the noise it makes....Who knows....never really understood that word. My M3 CSL had as much 'soul' as my 3200. I popped over the road to Maserati and Ferrari after and didn't feel any more Soul walking in there.....Perhaps it was the sea of Ghibli diesels Don't get me wrong I am not having a go at Maserati or Italian cars as I love Maserati which is why I'm on here but I recognise they are flawed gems and there are other cars out there that can do certain things better maybe....but yes they aren't a Maserati.....GT or sports car .... you takes your choice.

It was a question rather than a statement so no need to disagree :D

When I've driven them I have loved their handling and power but they just lacked that "******** tingle" which Benny so eloquently uses. I think it's pretty easy to understand the word.

Morning all. Another office day today sorting logistics of working in the USA.

Today may also include a trip to the travel agents as the missus now wants to go to Iceland (the country, not the shop).
Anyone been? Any recommendations (and no I'm not talking about strip joints).

Have a good one all.

Morning all,

Another day WFH followed by the drive down to Chepstow. Hopefully the forecast will hold and it'll be dry.

Have a good one and see some of you in the bar later.

Amazing place! Hire a car/4x4 and go round the island, taking in all the volcanoes, waterfalls, glaciers, geysirs etc. Spend a good amount of time in geothermally heated pools and spas, watch some whales, some aurorae, spend a late night out in Reykjavik laughing with the locals and DON'T eat the smoked trout or the pickled whale.

Well, good morning everyone!
Today, I'm amazed I made it home! It turns out that losing my passport in Barcelona and having to go through the stress of attending the British Consulate to get a temporary "Emergency Passport" saved my bacon in Paris last night! Emergency passports state your travel plans and dates to get you back to the UK. After the Chunnel was shut for a while and trains cancelled, there was then also a bomb scare at the Paris terminal, so they declared no trains for the rest of the evening. 2000+ people now in need of getting home or a bed meant all other means of getting home were not available and then all the hotels were booked up and it looked like my bed would be a Paris Gard du Nord platform bench. They then somehow managed to get the last two trains out, but only accepted people already booked so the stranded passengers remained stranded. However, I was one of 7 people to whom they gave an emergency seat, and for me that was thanks to showing them an emergency passport that required me to travel by train to the UK last night. Very late home, but at least I'm finally back, and I slept in my own bed!

HapPea Wednesday everyone!
