Dem, I look forward to seeing you and meeting your daughter tomorrow.

Been messing about with the alarm sensor and roof button panel today. Got a new one from Eurospares but turned out to be the wrong one - the right one is twice the price and out of stock. On the upside it's easy enough to fit. On the downside the front interior lights have stopped working for some reason. Rear ones are fine. Need to check the fuses. But first of all I need to get home - currently stuck on a closed dual carriageway. Had planned on giving the car a good pre-Brooklands wash and wax. Not the most productive day so far...

Hi Guys

Hope everyone going enjoys Brooklands tomorrow.

I had a rather special evening last night. It was drinks and dinner with Sterling Moss, 60 years on from his famous Mille Miglia victory. He had some excellent tales and a number of jokes. It was great to meet one of the greatest drivers ever. I also got a copy of his latest book, that was launched at the dinner, I've had a leaf through and it is an excellent mix of stories, information and brilliant photos. If you are interested in the man, I suggest you get the book.

What a privilege, Ross! Sounds terrific. Dare I ask how the h3ll you managed that?

It was at The Royal Automobile Club.

To add to the impressiveness of the Mille Miglia, here's some information...
Stirling averaged 97.9mph for the 992.3 mile course. He was urged on by his co-drive Jenks towards the end and completed the final 83 mile section in 30 minutes. That’s an average of 161mph. Think about that, driving a 1955 Merc 300 SLR over 1955-style Italian roads at that speed. The Mille Miglia was on normal roads not a special track. Incredible stuff.

If you are interested, this is from last night. An interview with Sterling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7UqqoOSsPc&feature=youtu.be

I find shouting at suppliers quite therapeutic sometimes! :numberone:

They finally got the message when we explained that we are now at the point of looking at alternative suppliers and that if they wanted to continue doing business with us they had better come up with some very good reasons for us to stay.
