The good morning thread

Morning all, have to wrestle a new mattress up to the third floor in the house for a guest bed, collect Spyder and S3 this afternoon. There's probably some DIY to do, but can't say I'm keen...

Very glad I decided not to catch the flight to Geneva last night - it landed there after midnight.

Oh.... It's snowing fine-style here in Lincs. Weather forecast had said dry and mostly sunny all day. Bollox.

Too close for comfort, C. Managed to wrestle mine from a nasty bill to a minor refund by using a trained professional wise in the ways of HMRC.

Morning all. Was snowing, now stopped. Just the cold remains. Missing Maser thrashes. Roll on spring!

Did that too one year C, and naturally the internet went down at home. Cue deathly pale face while I used a mobile phone attached to the laptop to file the return on the busiest day for their site (which was considerably less mature than it is now).

Weather cloudy but dry here near Bristol so you should get a decent run to Duncan's place and see the car dry.

Still snowing... :(

Bed reassembled and new astonishingly heavy memory foam mattress encouraged with carefully chosen short words to make it up several flights of stairs. You should be pleased C - due to these efforts you can have the entire top floor to yourselves when you and Mrs C come in a few weeks.

Drew, I'm flattered. Those memory foam things are both heavy *and* expensive :)

Adam, indeed there does seem to be a random number generator around the whole code thing :)

Are they? I only know (now) about the heavy part. It turned up out of the blue after herself ordered it; I'm not generally party to the details of these purchases... Anyway, you are welcome!

Herself is indeed impressed... Especially as we have just been back to collect her S3 which looks awesome - same treatment, but before detailing it needed the bodyshop to flat and polish the roof, bonnet and wing tops to remove tree sap, or as they preferred to think, aviation fuel deposits. No idea why they thought that, but it's gone anyway.

QP going in to be detailed week after next, same treatment as the Spyder :)

All done an dusted & back home...

What a cracking fella Duncan is; I got there about 09.45 to find the car in the workshop having returned from sailing through its MOT with an advisory on the OSF brake pipe (light corrosion), the back box (rusted heat shield) and a need for new wipers as they shead totally rather than move!

So we jumped in his car, shot over to Euro Car Spares and picked up an new battery, and wipers, returned and as we were fitting the wipers, Nick turned up (great to meet you) and having failed to be able to tax it on-line or by phone I jumped into Nick's car and found a post office to do it manually :)

Got back to Duncan's, the car was back outside & ready to go, paid the man, sorted paperwork and off I go to find a fuel station (quickly)... Well sort of as it wouldn't start without a jump! We put this down the the radio being left on and his fiddling about and lots of short runs. So I kept it running when I fuelled up and headed for the M4. Nature and age caught up with me at Leigh DeLamere services and when I got back to the car it was a no-go!!!!! I fiddled with the wires around the battery for a bit and tried it and all fine and has been since happily.

Stopped for a Bozniwash on the A12 and it cleans up ok:

So there are now two Italians on the driveway :D What a bargain I have too.... Thank you Nick and Duncan.
