There is an actual use case – remote desert roads in Dubai, and other similar areas. There's been a big clampdown on supercar silliness by the police in areas closer to civilisation but the remote roads are often smattered with sand, which even if you pick your way around, are a bit much for a standard supercar's ride height.

Wouldn’t describe that as an SUV.

Don’t believe the marketing hype the series 1 Land Rover wasnt the first, it was a direct copy of the Willys Jeep, they even copied the dimensions such as wheelbase.
