Instead of going all the way to Kent for Festival Italia at Brands Hatch on Sunday, I popped in to the Tetbury Classic Car Show, which is held on a school playing field near me in Gloucestershire. It was surprisingly big for a little show (if you see what I mean) with about 300 cars on display. I turned up half way through in the QP, and rather to my surprise was ushered into the display area (free) rather than the visitor parking (£5 per car). Mine seemed to be the only Maserati there (I almost wish I had given it a wash) but there was a load of interesting stuff from a Countach to a Cortina. I will post a couple of random pictures. Plus an excellent double bacon and sausage roll for £4, a beer, free cheese tasting, AND I bought a bench for the garden at a good price.
No 6am start, no queues, and only had to be there for a couple of hours. But then again, no racing, no display laps, no Ferraris and hardly any Maseratis.
Maybe we should all go there next time.
