Telegraph - Maserati makes merry

I don't know if anyone has seen the small article in the Telegraph today. They claim a procession of 200 classic and modern cars drove through the city streets of Modena. It appears to be from the deluded marketing department since no one we all spoke to actually mentioned a figure higher than 100 or the word enthusiast. The article mentions another number 500, along with the words collector and client, but not the fact that the majority were not driving a Maserati.

I wonder if they are now somehow acknowledging the 100+ enthusiasts own cars who were the genuine Maserati customers English, French & German that actually drove their own cars to Modena, and that they did not want to include in the celebrations or allow our cars on the Piazza since they expected us to pay them to be clients, and be included when most of us had travelled 2750miles to enjoy the journey and provide a smile to the real people that enjoy driving and seeing a Maserati, on the way to Modena and back.

It also mentions Panini, but the enthusiasts know of the private collection at the museum.

Maserati need to CEL.

I must say I'm rather disappointed at Maserati's lack of verve and vision during the centenary. Had it been Ferrari there would have been a succession of well-promoted events and the whole world would have turned out for it. Midlife is right, this was a missed and never to be repeated opportunity. At the very least the Alfieri should have been on sale.

I must admit after not seeing the Alfieri again in Modena or any of the centenary events I have to question whether it really will go into production at all. Why would you not take your next sports model to town and show it off?

I just hope their stupid marketing people are all sacked by now. Too late for the event but some justice at least.

It was in Turin at the final centenary dinner, I wasn't, just saw it on a clip on YouTube.

WE were the enthusiasts parade, can still see the locals standing and cheering in the cafes when we razzed past in Modena :)

How many police did you actually see? I'm struggling to recall seeing any on the roads in Modena, just the chaps checking we hadn't parked in the Piazza Grande on Friday evening.

They clearly didn't have us as a target on the roads; I can't imagine why they would, having seen the normal driving of the locals!
