I went for drive to the highest inn in Britain the tan hill inn. Fab drive if coming from direction of ribble head viaduct. The gradient is 25% in places and the road is very windy and steep. On my return I went via Richmond and it was a much tamer drive. A bucket list kind of place.

Perhaps we should organise a northern meet and drive between the cat and fiddle pub which is the 2nd highest and the tan hill inn. Its about 120 miles and some great roads and scenery inbetween the two.

Yah would be a good drive, i'm up for it.
Maybe also a mid stop meeting point between the two for those north of the cat and fiddle.

If anyone else is up for this i will start another thread.
Start at the cat and fiddle and head over the tops to penistone and then head toward halifax and skipton and onwards from there to the tan hill. Mid point would be somewhere near halifax. Roughly 130 miles and 2.5 hours.

Hopefully we will get a few weeks of good weather july / august time and we can plan something round then.

Sounds like a fun drive. I'm up for it as long as I'm around
