just a quick update on my lower wishbone problem, it turned out that the bolt connecting the track rod arm sheared off, believed from the inspection to be a rare fault in the make up. McGraths feel this to be an isolated case being confirmed by others in the industry, the photo attached shows the sheered bolt also someone else's problem with the bush that couldn't be seen on the car and the old Masa back where it belongs! On my drive having had a lovely sunny blast. All the best to all Sean

Look at the corrosion on the bush and the aluminium itself.
It's so in my opinion that the expansion of the inner bush due to corrosion has caused the arm to split under the internal pressure.
That is why the number of reported failures in warmer climates without salted roads is virtually nill.

It is. Imagine that breaking at 155+ on the M...... y private test track, which I did twice last Monday. Still, it could happen to any car, so crack on and have fun. I will! :D

would agree on the corrosion, definitely a contributing factor there. I have replaced all my wishbones and coat every thing in Terratex 350 with a hand sprayer, twice a year and that's keeping the corrosion at bay. the sheared bolt is scary, over torque maybe? it is in the shaft of the bolts which sees the tightening forces?
