Suspension bushings

Good morning all

I have a perished rear suspension bushing and I was wondering if any of you had upgraded these?

I take it that it's just the rubber that needs replacing rather than the whole rear end?...

Any idea where I can source and the likely cost? Tried Eurospares website but to my untrained eye I have no idea what to order.

Thanks in advance.

Morning Jol, did you fit my old Larini cats and mid section to your car in the end?

The fronts are referred to as Flanblocks I think, if you check the ES website, they go in the inner eyes of the A arms.

Think you are after part numbers 8 & 3 but I would print this out and take it to your mechanic and get him to put a 'oily' mark next to the parts you need.

Hello Matt

How's it going?

I did fit the Larini's - I'm sure I let you know but could well be going mad?! They sound great and not had a problem with them at all. Got to say that they sound immense with the windows down echoing between buildings or off cliffs. Had a fine time on a 3000 mile Euro tour last summer!

Thanks for your quick reply, although its the rear end I'm looking at. It's the rubber that the suspension sits on that has perished. Makes a knocking noise over bumps. I've had it on a ramp and could see the play in it. So, it's fanblocks I'm after? Anyone ever upgraded these items to Polybush?

not aware of any one posting about poylmer bushes, i also remember some saying they were not available. I think this is strongly affected by the bottom ball joints which wear and require the whole lower wishbone to be replaced. This usually happens before the bushes perish, and the new lower wishbones come with new suspension bushes fitted. So this probably dampens the market for the suspension bushes on their own (certainly for the lower wishbones) i would check your bottom ball joint is ok before launching into this. I tried ot get my suspension geometry adjusted and had to replace the bottom wishbones just to get it all to move, so it could be adjusted.
