The thing he is right about is the dated transmission. After driving a M5 DCT it makes this feel extremely old tech.
It's not just the gearbox.
The electrics are dated too. Dodgy satnav, no Bluetooth or Bluetooth audio........

Very good review tho IMO and fair. Nailed it for me on the "why buy it".
Cheers Wattie

Yes agreed, you buy them for that certain something different from all the other Italian supercars which scream "obvious" and "flashy". The Maser is so understated and cool even in MCS form!

I currently drive a 2014 M5 and previously had a 2012 M3.

In my younger years, had 5 Alfa's including, two 33's, a 75, 146Ti and 156 GTA. So you can say I guess that I like Italian cars.

Last month had the privilege of a 2014 model Granturismo Sport MC-Auto on test for 24 hours.

Put is this way I can't wait to get out of the M5 early next year and get a GT instead. The noise, poise, soul - bl**dy fantastic. Didn't find the transmission slow or dim-witted at all relative to the M5.

I think the ride comfort and damping was actually nicer than the M5, which was a surprise. All subjective of course.

I ran a Maserati GT S for nearly two years before replacing it with an F10 M5 which I have now had for two years. I have tried two different after market exhaust system that improved the sound but nothing like my old GT S.

For the sound and sense of occasion, I am now considering buying an MC Stradale but want the four seat version and prices are well North of £100k....

What sort of discount do you think is achievable on a new stock car?

Cheapest at the moment is a grey one at 106k.......Don't think they have sold a great deal of them either so may be some time before the prices drop to a better level....

fully agree, I compared my GTS Sport with many modern cars, including some luxury sedans, and the damping of the GTS (with Skyhook) is the best one I found.

I really don't find this car to be too much 'aged' to drive. It has been presented to the market 8 years ago, but is has also been improved a lot during its life
