Am getting an intermittent fault light on my Strad, had GP take a look at it and they say it's the variable valve timing sensor. Anyone had this fault beofr and if so have you fixed it yourself or had a dealer do it and at what cost? Light is currently off, so it could simply be lack of use

Had a solenoid go on mine for the VVC system cost about £150 for part and £400 fitted as you need the cam cover off... at least that alao meant new cam cover oil seal.

Who did that for you?

A friend did mine
If it's a cam sensor then its at the back of the engine and a right tw4t to get to.
My mate only charged me £250 to do it but I think main stealer would charge around a grand more.
I got one sensor from Eurospares but the other was on back order so I only replaced the faulty one but my friend said we should have done both but I couldn't get one so that was that. You also have to replace the rubber O rings on the inlet manifold.
You must be missing your MC Stradale, how are you adjusting to the Califonia T, any exhaust plans?
