Yeah, I have that a bit too on my MC. Thus far I've put it down to 'personality'...

Mine 'suffers' from this too. TBH I haven't given it too much thought though. But if anyone has a simple solution to it, then I might try and fix it.

Yup. Apparently it's one of the bushes which the steering column runs through.
Adam, do you know what the fix is for this (if there is one); is it a job for main dealer?

When I checked it with my main dealer they said they could squirt some oil on it but it would only be a short term fixed before the squeak returned. BigR has taken the right decision to put it down to personality.

There is a fix for this - press ******* the right-hand pedal in the driver's foot well. The resultant increase in noise from the exhaust should diminish any squeaking from the steering!

Are you describing a squeak when turning a tight corner even if you are not actually moving the steering wheel? If so, mine did it for the first month or so and hasn't done it since. Not sure why.

Mark I am shocked you have taken the Benny approach to maintenance. ;)

Mine sounds like a little mouse squeaking whenever you turn the wheel!

I just turn the stereo up or put it in Race, but it is annoying on a new car

Talcum powder / french chalk will be your friend.... Not oil.

You probably need a small mouse to access the squeaky bush in the first place. So even if you can chalk him up adequately to fix the squeak you then run the risk of having another squeak on the loose. Or is it more accessible than I suspect?

Second squeak can be rectified with cheese :) How about graphite powder or PTFE lube?

Nothing good can come of using cheese, my friend. ;)

Graphite powder is very messy.... Talcum powder is virtually free, and doesn't ruin your shoes.

I'm struggling to see how dousing myself in talc after my annual bath is going to help with my squeaky steering wheel :conf1:

On the mouse or the bush? Surely there must be laws against lubricating mice. It can't be good for them but even if they enjoyed it you'd need to ask yourself what a well-greased mouse could achieve that a non-augmented one couldn't.

I agree that cheese has its limitations but graphite powder or talc is likely to ruin a convivial fondu.

Might be something Richard Gere could answer? Actually, no - I believe his area of expertise was the hamster.
