I remember your CSL there, Andy. The intake sound as you were giving it some welly was glorious.
It was a great day mate.....Did get plenty of track time....
Just behind Loz then...
The car in front of mine was Jezza's 3200. Loz's 4200 was behind mine on the grid - that was the day his F1 pump packed up. Lots of cars & owners we no longer hear about. Wonder where some of them are now - Malc H with his Spyder & Ghibli track car, Steve's immaculate green 3200, that spotless red 3200, the black AC which I think was sold to make way for a 355....
It was probably the best example of a 3200 I'd ever seen, literally flawless. The owner was meticulous and IIRC kept it cosseted under soft covers in a heated garage. His son was telling us how the owner loved and cherished the car and that the family were all scared to go near it in fear of damaging or scratching it. The guy then delivered the surprise of his son's life by allowing him to take it around Goodwood with an instructor on board! Owner stayed in the pits as he didn't want to witness it first hand!!The paintwork on the red Maser looks like glass..!!
