Not sure when I'll be able to pick it up, as the owner was delayed home tonight so I wasn't able to pop over the deposit. I'd imagine by the time we have sorted all the monies,Roberto from Grimaldi has taken it for a drive etc etc it will be next week sometime. I can have the paint detailed and the interior valeted while I'm down at Le Mans, and come back to a lovely present. Can't wait!
Bearing in mind apparently the Sat-Nav is so poor, is there a newer disc, software update or the like?

Awesome SJC. I'm a tiny bit jealous, OTOH mine is in the drive already. On the other *other* hand, I'm 8000 miles away from the drive :D

Sat Nav is not that bad. TMC works which is good and the system is no worse than that in an R8.

Agreed, it's ok and does the job. Worth having a clue where you're going before you set out but I've taken that approach ever since my old Disco proudly declared "you have arrived at your destination" as I sat on a track between two French turmip* fields. The MasNav is nothing like the one on my old Merc, but if I wanted Germanic efficiency I'd have kept it. Interesting that the R8 isn't much better.

* I think they were turnips.

My Disco sat nav is great, it takes full UK postcodes and says 'welcome to France' when I drive off the Eurotunnel.

I remember that! The "welcome to Italy" and il tricolore on the screen was almost triumphant as we passed through the Mont Blanc tunnel.

In fairness, what I learned after my satnav proudly declared that I had arrived at my destination in a turnip field was that French postcodes cover vast tracts of land. My point remains that I don't willingly rely on satnavs - I've been caught out in Florence by roads that have been permanetly shut and the satnav has been completely unable to help. Portable ones with regular updates are the best bet if you don't mind having a satnav stuck to your windscreen. So whilst the Maser one isn't perfect there seem to be various challenges involved in updating the maps and I'm happy to let it get me close enough and then figure out the details from there. Adds to the adventure... right?

Ohhh yes! It's what sold it to me and I love it. Every time, I love it. Hopelessly addicted. Enjoy! And don't forget to add some pictures (as soon as you can stop driving for long enough to take any).

Re the lowering springs drop a note to Noor from Performance Italia. He's on here and a forum sponsor, if I remember correctly.

Have spoken to Noor, by PM and by phone, he has been extremely helpful, but as of yet I'm not convinced on how it's going to look lowered by inch and with 22mm spacers to stop the wheels being tucked in. Need to see one in the flesh, as all the photos have left me unconvinced. I've also spoken to the chap on here who had the Strad suspension and wheels fitted.
Popping up to Colchester Maserati on Wednesday to pick up new mats and have the glovebox looked at, and then I'll try and get some pictures up next week when it's valeted. Need to read up now on all the gadgets, as I'm not used to that stuff and also Technophobic!

The guys in Colchester are terrific, really helpful and not out for a quick few quid. They send customers to Grimaldi from time to time as well, which speaks volumes to me about a focus on doing the right thing by your customers as well as the regard with which Roberto & co are held.

Good luck... and enjoy!

Oh, and you'll get lost in those manuals if you're anything like me. Most important thing is to learn where the emergency boot opener is and buy a decent battery conditioner because they're prone to going flat. It takes a good 20 minute run to recover the charge lost when starting.

Hi - I've left my car for a couple of weeks holiday and the battery has been fine.

Can you send me the details / price for the chrome/black wrap - Been considering having mine done as well!

Cheers

As well as time it is also linked to the length of runs you do both before you go and after you get back. I fell foul of that. Takes 40 mins driving or thereabouts to replace the charge taken from a start. Much more than other brands apparently.

I'm not at all convinced by this number. Apart from anything else, I often don't run mine for 40 mins over a week or more.
